JOIN the Student Association of SUNY Geneseo! The Student Association (SA) is the Undergraduate Student Government serviced to enhance the undergraduate student experience. SA supports numerous student clubs/organizations and is responsible for the allocation of funds, resources and personnel to various student focused services and programs.

PURPOSE The Crew Club Coach is a part-time position in the Student Association, charged with adherence to the known ethical standards related to the sport of crew and the club sports policies of the Student Association. The Crew Club Coach reports to the Director of SA Programs, Personnel & Finances and the Student Association President.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS -Serve as a liaison between the Crew Club and Student Association -Offer instruction in the sport of rowing and providing guidance to the Crew Club in the daily operations -Plans and implements the seasonal and annual training practice and competition schedules and submit the schedules to the Director of SA Programs, Personnel and Finances by January 30th of each year -Formulate club rules, Crew Club Safety and Emergency plan as needed -Maintain current AED, COR and first aid certifications -Maintenance of Crew Club equipment -Maintain travel arrangements for students while adhering to safety and protocol while traveling to and from regattas -Ensure the expectations for student practice, travel and competition are consistent with SUNY Geneseos expectation for academic excellence -Supervise all water practices and coordinating all regattas in person and serving as the final authority pertaining to weather related decisions for practices and competitions -Operation of truck and trailers to and from each regatta and supervising the loading and unloading of the trailer and equipment -Monitor the effectiveness of practice and training sessions Attend at least one rowing clinic on an annual basis -Oversee the boathouse of Conesus Lake and the rules of boathouse usage -Complete the year end report -Other duties as assigned

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE -Associates degree (or higher) and/or related professional experience in a similar role in lieu of a degree -Prior coaching experience in the sport of crew -Valid AED, CPR and First Aid certifications -Valid driver's license

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS -Ability to stand or sit for prolonged periods of time -Ability to lift and move up to 40 pounds occasionally -Extensive computer use

SCOPE AND DIRECTION Reports to: Director of SA Programs, Personnel & Finances and the Student Association President Direct Reports: Crew teammates FSLA Status: Exempt
