Description

We are looking for a talented Supplier Quality Team Leader to join our team for our Accelera Business Unit in Fridley, MN. This is an onsite role.

In this role, you will make an impact in the following ways:

  • The Supplier Quality Engineering Manager creates value by building an effective team, by managing daily operations, or by supporting initiatives that enable the function, business unit or customer to achieve its business objectives.

  • Build strong relationships with all critical partners to improve quality and business outcomes, including: external suppliers, external customers, and internal customers and stakeholders, such as Purchasing, Manufacturing and Engineering; coach and mentor Cummins professionals on how to strengthen the soft skills required to develop effective relationships.

  • Establish team capability for an assigned Product Category through coaching, mentoring, and development of critical competencies required to deliver Product Category specific results.

  • Develop leadership capability by designing and leading regional initiatives that create business results or enhance the customer experience; utilize industry proven methodologies, such as lean and six-sigma; support regional implementation of business or corporate led initiatives.

  • Partner with the regional customer (internal or external) to co-develop annual work plans that enable the customer to achieve its annual business objectives; manage the initiatives and teams to ensure successful execution.

  • Ensure resolution of complex business-oriented or function-oriented quality challenges by sponsoring root cause analysis, by sponsoring development of corrective actions and by sponsoring the verification of the effectiveness of corrective actions.

Qualifications

To be successful in this role, you will need the following:

  • Quality Influence - Ability to recognize stakeholders, create a forum to professionally extract stakeholder perspectives, drive and engage in constructive conflict, and to influence outcomes in order to ensure Cummins makes a balanced decision inclusive of Quality priorities.

  • Supplier Quality Project Planning and Execution - Applying Advanced Product Quality Planning (APQP) skills to develop and execute a quality plan that enables external suppliers to meet customer expectations; Requires facilitating communication and collaboration across cross-functional activities, when a program, initiative, or project concerns external suppliers.

  • Supplier Performance Improvement - Improving supplier performance by developing and executing an effective quality improvement strategy that consists of a project team, glidepath, reduction of manufacturing issues and improvement of systemic deficiencies.

Education, Licenses, Certifications

  • College, university, or equivalent degree in Engineering, Quality or a related technical or scientific subject required.

  • This position may require licensing for compliance with export controls or sanctions regulations.

Experience/Responsibilities

  • 3-5 years’ experience in Supplier Quality Leadership in the automotive industry or a similarly regulated industry - Oil/gas, pharmaceutical, aerospace.

  • Will be 100% onsite.

  • Knowledge of Hydrogen product is preferred.

  • Will be developing Supplier Quality procedures and standards.

  • Need to be collaborative, innovative and adaptable and possess technology maturity.

Compensation

Salary Range: $109,600 - $164,400. Please note that the salary range provided is a good faith estimate on the applicable range. The final salary offer will be determined after considering relevant factors, including a candidate’s qualifications and experience, where appropriate.

Cummins and E-verify

Cummins validates right to work using E-Verify. Cummins will provide the Social Security Administration (SSA) and, if necessary, the Department of Homeland Security (DHS), with information from each new employee’s Form I-9 to confirm work authorization.
