Bavarian Inn Restaurant Maintenance Technician (Restaurant Equipment & General Facilities) in FRANKENMUTH, Michigan

FULL TIME + BENEFITS   |   WAGE BASED ON SKILLSET & EXPERIENCE  ($14-$20)  |   SHIFT EXAMPLES: 7am-3pm or 11am-7pm

SUMMARY:

Bavarian Inn Restaurant is looking for a full-time maintenance technician to keep our kitchen & facilities in tip-top shape. We do all repairs in house from changing light bulbs, repairing a gear in the dish machine, and even plumbing and heating. Our maintenance team is responsible for the repair, replacement, and preventive maintenance of the restaurant facilities, systems, equipment and machinery in accordance with established operational and safety procedures. Must have a basic working knowledge of heating, air conditioning, ventilation, refrigeration, plumbing, and electric as well as having welding experience. Licenses and certifications are welcome, but not required; commercial kitchen maintenance experience is a must, however.

BASIC REQUIREMENTS:

  • Must be able to stand/walk for 8+ hours
  • Must be able to lift, push, or pull weights up to 100 pounds
  • Must be available a variety of shifts including weekends and holidays
  • Prior experience with commercial kitchen equipment required
  • Must be able to multitask while maintaining optimism and accuracy

WORK PERFORMED:

Repairs to equipment and machinery on a daily or emergency basis

  • Dismantles machines or equipment to determine problem and assess whether external assistance is necessary
  • Repairs and replaces gauges, valves and other plumbing equipment as required
  • Performs various repairs to wooden fixtures and furnishings such as tables and chairs
  • Performs some repairs relating to steam, electricity, sewage, refrigeration, air conditioning, heating, etc.

Preventive maintenance on all machinery, equipment, service systems and building facilities as assigned

  • Performs preventive maintenance checks as assigned
  • Inspects mechanical equipment to assure all are in proper operational condition
  • Cleans and lubricates shafts, bearings and other vital parts of machinery as necessary
  • Performs light maintenance to all company vehicles, including the forklift

"Odds & Ends" tasks

  • Removes snow from parking lot and traffic areas
  • Errands as needed -- picking up parts from hardware store, assisting with pickup/drop off of products, etc.
  • Occasional fabrication of custom parts, equipment, or machinery for departments as needed using basic maintenance tools
  • Cleaning and tidying of attics, barns, and storage areas
  • Painting and touch up work throughout facility
  • Assembly of new equipment
