Kanaan Communications, LLC Specialist Safety in Fort Worth, Texas

Overview and Essential Functions

A Field Safety Technician will visit construction job sites and complete observation checklists, will work with the Safety Manager to ensure adherence to laws and regulations governing the health and safety of employees. This position requires a working knowledge of OSHA and DOT regulations.

Previous CATV/FIBER/OSP Construction experience is preferred.

What you'll do...

  • Completion of high-level tasks in support of an assigned department/project.

  • Receive, organize, file, and maintain documents and/or data for an assigned department/project.

  • Communicate with employees, contractors, vendors, and/or customers to assist assigned department/project.

  • Read, interpret, and input data in support of an assigned department/project..

  • Conduct safety onboarding and DOT compliance information for new hires on a weekly basis.

  • Perform weekly safety meeting as needed.

  • Perform Job Site Observations.

  • Assist with investigation, reporting and tracking of damages.

  • Assist with investigation, reporting and tracking of injuries.

  • Assist with investigation, reporting and tracking of accidents.

  • Assist with annual safety training and tracking for each employee.

  • Additional Duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Who we are looking for…

  • Previous construction experience, preferably in the telecommunications industry

  • 2 years of related work experience

  • Understand DOT rules and regulations

  • Ability to work safely, with or without supervision.

  • Ability to read, understand, interpret, input, and analyze data with a high degree of accuracy and completeness.

  • Ability to organize workload to determine priority of duties.

  • Ability to communicate with Company personnel, vendors, and contractors to ensure tasks are completed.

  • Ability to communicate ideas, policies, and procedures in a classroom setting.

  • Ability to follow instructions and communicate verbally and in writing.

  • Ability to operate vehicle following all safety and traffic regulations including daily maintenance of vehicle.

  • Ability to endure long periods of standing, sitting, or walking.

  • Ability to work in an outdoor environment during all times of the year.

  • Ability to adapt to changing priorities and/or environments is necessary.

  • Proficient in the use of office hardware and software. (PCs, Tablets, Printers, Copiers, Microsoft, Google, etc.)

  • Excellent Customer Service skills and strong English language skills both oral and written.

  • Authorized to work in the United States

  • Successful completion of pre-employment drug screen, background, and motor vehicle record check.

  • A good driving record is required.

  • Must be willing to train.
