Position Purpose:To provide leadership, oversight, coordination, management support and technical expertise for all projects to include: safety, operations, P&L, planning, scheduling, cost monitoring, cost reporting, customer reporting, performance tracking, budgeting, estimating, change orders, billing, marketing, staff development, business development and bid development associated with utility construction. In doing so, evaluating, coaching, and providing feedback routinely and often *Demeanor: Routinely possesses a positive attitude with the desire to improve and help others *Visionary:Possess the experience and wherewithal to identify areas of opportunity and the ability to manage a team or develop a program to execute the vision *Work closely with Project Managers and customers to assure crews and contractors are coordinated to work efficiently and meet contracting requirements, budgets, forecasts and schedules.Ensures that barriers to construction progress are removed in a timely manner *Demonstrate safety leadership by supporting the implementation and management of the MJE Safety Management System *Assist Project Managers with project scope development and project authorization through completion *Ensure that MJE Senior Management is kept current on the progress of construction projects, business opportunities and industry trends *Systematically and regularly appraise and evaluate project progress against established goals, timelines and objectives.Provide assistance to Project Managers to correct deficiencies in these areas *Promote and develop common systems and processes to provide for proper accounting, reporting of project costs, customer billing, scheduling, material procurement, record keeping, documentation and budgeting by Project Managers *Interface with key customers to ensure that construction activities in affected areas are communicated and understood *Coordinates and directs the preparation of the budget and financial forecasts, institutes and maintains other planning and control procedures (including the cost accounting system) and analyzes and reports variances.
