Summary About the position: This position will be assigned to the Fort Tuthill in Flagstaff, AZ. This is a Flexible position no benefits. Heavy physical effort is required in frequently lifting and moving objects weighing over 50 pounds, and in using heavy hand tools and operating equipment. The first applicant list will be pulled on May 16th, and then every two weeks until position is filled. Responsibilities Duties include performing one or a combination of the following manual labor tasks: Loads, unloads, or relocates heavy or bulky items from boxcars, trucks, and other conveyances; carriers and assembles scaffolding. Shovels and moves snow using hand tools, snow blowers, and small lawn tractor. Uses heavy (not domestic type) power mowers as well as walk-behind mowers & hand-held weed-eaters; adjust blades and cleans and oils mowers; cuts trees using ax, chain saw, hedge trimmers, clippers. Paints and stains interior walls, exterior decks, siding. Troubleshoots minor electrical such as checking breakers, changing lightbulbs. Performs other related duties as assigned. Work that requires the skills and knowledge in operating heavy equipment, continually involves extreme physical effort; such as, constantly lifting or carrying objects weighing 80 to 100 pounds or more with assistance. Education Some federal jobs allow you to substitute your education for the required experience in order to qualify. This position does not allow for education substitution. FOREIGN EDUCATION: Education completed in foreign colleges or universities may be used to meet the requirements. You must show proof the education credentials have been deemed to be at least equivalent to that gained in conventional U.S. education program.
