Position Description Wally’s loss prevention team members are responsible for protecting assets by ensuring compliance with internal control procedures and regulations through store surveillance, inspections, and supervision of assigned team members. Successful loss prevention specialists are able to work individually or in small teams with minimal supervision and contribute to a superior guest environment at Wally’s. Responsibilities and Duties The essential job functions include, but are not limited to: Prevent theft and shortage at the front of store by performing receipt checks when required. Prevent loss and damage by reporting irregularities to management; informing violators of policy and procedures Respond to and accurately document loss prevention incidents. Conduct productive merchandise recoveries and provide apprehension support as needed, strictly adhering to LP policies and procedures and LP leadership guidance Oversee trends and solutions to address inventory shrink. Understand and appropriately use all video systems Execute shortage action plans set by LP leadership to minimize shortage in focus areas Provide service and a shopping experience that meets the needs of the guest Demonstrate a culture of ethical conduct, safety and compliance Work in a safe manner at all times to benefit yourself and others; identify and correct hazards; comply with all safety policies and best practices. Comply with uniform standards and maintain a “well groomed” appearance. Perform other duties as assigned Required flexibility in scheduling including nights, weekends, and holidays. Position Requirements “List required qualifications, skills, and work availability if applicable. If position requires a minimal amount of experience list as well.” Previous retail, guest service, loss prevention experience is preferred. High school diploma or GED preferred. Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos. Ability to communicate and/or write simple correspondence. Must be able to work in a fast-paced environment. Team Members are regularly required to stand/walk for up to 8 hours; They frequently use hands to finger, handle, or feel and reach with hands and arms. Team members occasionally are required to stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl and talk or hear. They must frequently lift and/or move up to 10 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
