Summary of Role:

GlobalFoundries is looking to hire an Equipment Maintenance Technician on Nights for the CMP area, to sustain and run the fab floor with primary responsibility of performing preventive and first call maintenance to support semiconductor equipment and its support equipment. This person needs to be flexible and dependable to meet business demands on equipment. This position is in the 200mm factory in Essex Jct., Vermont and is a shift position working a compressed week of 12-hour shifts, which could be a day or night shift depending on business need. GlobalFoundries is a 24/7 manufacturing facility providing technician support across all shifts. Successful Manufacturing Technicians are self-motivated and work effectively in team or individual situations and demonstrate flexibility regarding assignments, work content, and work area.

Essential Responsibilities:

  • Operates semiconductor manufacturing equipment

  • Executes and performs Quality Standard Work

  • Provides leadership in continuous improvement to improve equipment productivity.

  • Execute preventive and first call maintenance on semiconductor equipment.

  • Deals with complex cross functional processes, systems and equipment

  • Evaluates and identifies solutions, considering implications to other functions

  • Applies working knowledge of technical resources to complete assigned tasks.

  • Identifies and solves basic problems and presents alternatives in a useful/logical manner.

  • Problems may involve uncommon variations of issues or situations

  • Refers more complex problems appropriately

  • Coordinates information exchange and builds working relationship with manager and co-workers to accomplish work steps and to solve problems.

  • Provides informal technical support and on-the-job training on specific tasks to new team members.

  • Requires some interaction outside of the immediate department to exchange information and accomplish tasks (e.g. with internal customers/suppliers)

  • Requires minimal interaction with others outside of the company

  • Provides informal technical support to new team members

Other Responsibilities:

  • Perform all activities in a safe and responsible manner and support all Environmental, Health, Safety & Security requirements, and programs

  • Other duties as assigned by manager / supervisor

Required Qualifications:

  • Education – High School Education or equivalent, or High School Tech Center Education, coupled with demonstrated technical aptitude (external candidates must pass technical aptitude assessment)

  • Experience - 1-2 years of relevant experience

  • Travel – 0-5%

  • Fluent in English Language – both written & verbal

  • Physical Capacity Demands –

  • Able to perform shift work on a 12 hours per shift schedule

  • Able to work in a cleanroom environment per semiconductor protocol/requirements

  • Able to wear all required clean room protective clothing and equipment for normal 12-hour shift (excluding breaks)

  • Ability to perform work in a standing position for the majority of a 12-hour shift (excluding breaks)

  • Able to lift a minimum of 30 pounds on a periodic basis throughout the shift (preventive maintenance) and/or process issues

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Dependable / punctual

  • Effective communication skills and ability to work within a tightly coupled team.

  • Demonstrated Semiconductor Equipment Experience and Knowledge

  • Demonstrated ability to follow detailed instructions and procedures to complete tasks with required documentation

  • Demonstrated work performance in an environment requiring attention to detail and timeliness

  • Strong team member with ability to work well within a global team

Additional Eligibility Qualifications:

Expected Salary Range

$37,100.00 - $63,600.00

The exact Salary will be determined based on qualifications, experience and location.
