FirstService Residential Community Association Manager in Elk Grove Village, Illinois

Job Overview:

As aCommunity Association Manager,you’llprovidestrong leadership and management direction on behalf of the Board of Directors and FirstService Residential.You'llserve as aliaisontothe community, enhance communication,enforce legal compliance,andoverseeoperationsof theassociation andstaffmanagement.

This opportunity is available in the Northwestsuburbsof Chicago, Illinois.

Your Responsibilities:

  • Develop recommendations forcommunitygoals and lead action plans to achieve Boardobjectives. 
  • Provide community leadershipandguidanceto ensure that the needs or desires of the homeownersarebeing addressed.
  • In partnership with the Board, create and implement the annual working budget.On a monthly basis, monitor and report on the financial position of the association.
  • Ensure due diligence for the protection of client’s funds, property, and assets against allreasonably foreseeablecontingencies or losses.
  • Provide leadership to each meeting involving the Board of Directors in terms of agenda support and written and oral reports.  Summarize the priorities of each meeting withappropriate followup. 
  • Maintain a level of service excellence in all interactions with residents, vendors, staff, andcolleagues withknowledge and enforcement of the Community Governing Documents.
  • Assess andmonitorcommunity needs:identifyopportunities for improving service delivery methods and procedures and developingnew programs. Select and collaboratewith external vendorpartnersto implement programs or improvements. 
  • Recruit, hire, train, and supervise all community staffin accordance withthe documented management plan.Evaluate and make recommendationsforefficientand effectivesupport of the community.
  • Work closely with local emergency organizations tomaintainestablished emergency and community evacuation plans asappropriate. 
  • Perform building inspection of interior and exterior of property. Maintain on-site visibility throughoutcommon areasand facilities.
  • In accordance withthe Illinois Condo Act and FirstService Residential policies,complywithall codes and regulatory requirements for the property, including assessing and correcting any violations received by various regulatory agencies.

Skills & Qualifications:

  • Active Community Association Manager license in the state of Illinois.
  • Understanding of physical building management, Condominium law, financial planning, and law affecting property management.
  • Works effectively with coworkers, clients, customers, and others by sharing ideas in a constructive and positive manner; addresses problems and issues constructively to find mutually acceptable and practical business solutions. 
  • Possess budgetary knowledge and control for the purpose(s) of executing programs within the community as well as related activities that may be cost-shared for the benefit of the community. 
  • Mustpossessa high energy attitude and an ability to multi-task/prioritize different projects at any given time.
  • Superior oral and written communication skills.
  • Community management experience or equivalent professional experience in a related field strongly preferred.

Supervisory Responsibilities

  • Supervisemanagement office andcommunitystaff members, where applicable.
