Overview The Configuration Management Specialist (CMS) is a key member who supplies solutions that integrates technical and business requirements with the Space Forces DevOps Environment.

Responsibilities

  • The Configuration Management Specialist (CMS) is a key member who supplies solutions that integrates technical and business requirements with the Space Forces DevOps Environment.
  • The CSM will monitor all Platform costs and inform Space Force leadership on financial decisions.
  • Our team of CMS professionals will implement change management tracking, the introduction and onboarding of new technology, the inventory of current software licenses and hardware sustainment costs, and monitoring cloud compute costs across IL4, and IL6environments.

Skills Required

  • Undergraduate degree in Computer Science, IT, IS, or equivalent area of technical study
  • Certification in major cloud infrastructure provider and/or CNCF related technologies
  • Certification in CompTIA Security Plus is highly desired
  • Preferred 5+ years of hands-on production programming experience with agile software development in a variety of languages, such as Python, .NET/C#, Go, Java, JavaScript/Node.JS
  • A minimum of 2 years of hands-on staging and production experience in each of the following areas:
    • Administering and deploying development CI/CD tools such as GitLab, Jenkins, or Azure DevOps
    • Infrastructure and configuration management solutions such as Terraform, Ansible or Chef
    • Container orchestration services, especially Kubernetes
    • Systems administration scripting methods such as Python, Bash, or PowerShell
    • Supporting Windows and Linux operating system environments.
  • In-depth operational expertise in the following areas:
    • Cloud architecture best practices around operational excellence, security, reliability, performance efficiency, and cost optimization
    • Best practices and IT operations for dynamic, always-up, always-available services
  • A minimum of 2 years of experience with collaboration tools such as Jira, Confluence, or Sparks
  • Experience with communicative/collaboration tools such as Mattermost, MS Teams, Google Workspace and Zoom applications
  • U.S. Citizenship
  • Ability to obtain a security clearance.

Other Qualifications:

  • Demonstrated systems perspective when analyzing problems, thinking about the overall operation, failure modes and how to address these problems proactively
  • Ability to work in an agile product team environment and balance a diverse set of stakeholder requests
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills with an ability to break down complex technical systems to help business partners understand the value
  • Strong technical collaboration and communication skills as well as the ability to drive cultural change and adoption of best practices through community participation
  • Ability to collaborate with other teams across the company, defining technology roadmaps, sharing experiences and lessons learned for continual improvement
  • Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting skills
  • Process-oriented with great documentation skills
  • Salary Range: $80K - $150K, DOE

Education

  • Bachelors degree required, preferably in math, engineering, business, or the sciences.
