Amentum Electronic Technician II: Eglin AFB in Eglin AFB, Florida

Classification Description

Maintains, repairs, and inspects aircraft Avionics systems and components. Performs maintenance actions on avionics, such as but not limited to, F-15/F-16 aircraft avionics line replaceable units (LRU), compass systems, Navigation systems, communication systems, radar systems and associated Support Equipment (SE). Applies technical knowledge of airframe and power plant systems in determining equipment malfunctions and applies technical expertise in restoring equipment condition and operation. Performs reprogramming of avionics systems as required. Runs automatic diagnostic software. Installs avionics systems assemblies and sub-assemblies, connects, and boresights flightline replaceable components. Performs inspections, repairs and calibrations on SE. Performs avionics phase inspections on aircraft. Required to perform assigned tasks within your work center that directly supports necessary functions of this job classification.

Specialty Qualifications (c

a. Knowledge. Knowledge of the principles of aircraft avionics systems is mandatory. Knowledge of principles of electronics and analog/digital components and techniques is mandatory. Knowledge of microprocessors and associated computers, interpreting technical orders, wiring and logic diagrams, and schematic drawings applying to maintenance systems is mandatory. Knowledge of the concepts and application of maintenance directives is mandatory. Knowledge of the proper handling and disposal of hazardous waste and materials is mandatory. Knowledge of MIS (CAMS/IMDS) and desktop computer operations and use is mandatory. Must have working knowledge of Air Force supply procedures to look up, place orders, receive and maintain parts and materials to complete assigned work. Working knowledge of Aircraft 781 series forms.

b. Education. Completion of high school with courses in physics, chemistry, and mathematics is desirable. Completion of basic avionics maintenance course is mandatory.

c. Experience. Qualification as an Electronics Technician is mandatory. A minimum of three years of experience maintaining, troubleshooting, aligning, calibrating, or repairing avionics equipment and SE is mandatory.

Special Certifications and Qualifications required for position (as determined by Program Manager)

You must have held an Air Force Avionics AIS AFSC. Experience with F-15 LRUs and associated test equipment preferred. Knowledge of test equipment operation in the AIS Manuals Section Highly preferred. You must possess the required qualifications in the attached job description. SECRET CLEARANCE REQUIRED.
