Actalent Field Support Technician in Eden Prairie, Minnesota

Description:

This Individual will report to the Field Service Manager in Germany. Will be responsible for over the phone and field troubleshooting support for it's customer base and in house engineering team.

• Troubleshooting and solving technical, quality and reliability issues with SVP systems in the field and our in-house systems.

• Lead and develop continuous improvement initiatives in the field to improve System- reliability and productivity.

• Train customers on proper usage, troubleshooting, and basic repair procedures.

• Improve overall capability in troubleshooting complex problems through influence, example, and direct training.

• Provides expert test and machine troubleshooting capabilities. Performs part-building problem-solving.

• Report software issues to bug tracking systems accurately and clearly, so developers can quickly understand and repeat the problem.

• Ability to use standard problem-solving methods (i.e., 8D, 5W, IDEAL, etc.) to create corrective actions with engineering, manufacturing, and suppliers to

ensure continuous improvement.

• Support engineering- and operating teams on Service Pack/Modification deliverables/planning (including installation- and training documentation) and

executing Service Pack planning/deployment in the field and in-house systems.

• Work with engineering and customers as needed to install, service and upgrade SVP systems.

• Execution of equipment certification and testing processes that ensure successful validation (FAT=Final Acceptance Tests) and then

following/certifying Installation at Customer Sites (SAT=Service Acceptance Tests), then training technical personnel on their execution.

• Assist with maintaining inventory for spares and consumables at customer sites, remote storage locations, and facilities, as well as assisting in

forecasting and costing demands.

• Project management of multiple and complex projects involving external customers and internal resources and teams, requiring coordination of multiple

functions and tasks.

• Proactively communicates status and issues.

  • 3D Printing or Imaging, PLC's, Sensors, Cameras, strong nice to have

  • Ability to Travel 30% to 50%
