The HR Generalist role provides coaching and guidance to both leaders and team members across the enterprise regarding people related challenges. Working in close partnership with Leadership, the HR Generalist is accountable for utilizing superb project management, facilitation, and communication expertise to deliver relevant, effective talent solutions and produce results while fostering strong business partner relationships. This role will implement human resources programs and provide human resources services, including performance management, employment processing, compensation, benefits, training, records management, safety and health, employee relations and retention, compliance, and labor relations; completing personnel transactions. HR Generalist will also assist with a wide variety of HR responsibilities including the research, analysis, evaluation, and administration of HR programs and initiatives.
Partners with team members and leaders to resolve Employee Relations and HR issues.
Proactively utilizes Employee Relations and HR insights, metrics, and trends to identify barriers to achieving business results/ shares findings, recommendations and leads efforts for improvement.
First line of response to Human Resources related inquires including verifications of employment, Unemployment claims, subpoenas and other legal requests.
Maintains knowledge and practices local and federal human resource-related laws and helps to strategically manage Employee Relations processes, programs and practices.
Serves as role model, ambassador, and educator of company values, Vision and Standards of Conduct.
Updates reports and Employee information to ensure Human Resources data integrity.
Prepares reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing data and trends.
Successfully leads and manages projects while identifying and implementing opportunities for streamlining and increasing efficiency.
Manages expectations by communicating project status and issues; resolving concerns; analyzing time and cost issues; preparing reports.
Complies with federal, state, and local legal requirements by studying existing and new legislation; anticipating legislation; enforcing adherence to requirements; advising management on needed actions.
Enhances department and organization reputation by accepting ownership for accomplishing new and different requests; exploring opportunities to add value to job accomplishments.
Manages work maintaining the highest degree of confidentiality.
Participated in the development and execution of Employee Relations events and activities.
Maintains personnel files related to Employee paperwork, legal documentation and employee complaints and resolution.
3+ years’ experience in an HR generalist role.
General knowledge of employment laws and employee relations practices.
Experience in the administration of benefits and compensation programs and other Human Resources programs.
Excellent computer skills in a Microsoft Windows environment. Must include Excel and demonstrated skills in database management and record keeping.
Effective verbal and written communication.
Excellent interpersonal and coaching skills.
Evidence of the practice of a high level of confidentiality.
Excellent organizational skills.
