ROLE: Senior Manager Engineering Projects

LOCATION: Based either in ADL (Dun Laoghaire) or ABR (Breda, The Netherlands)

What you will do

As a member of the Global Capital Projects Management team, the Senior Manager will lead the planning, implementation, and completion of multiple engineering projects. This will involve coordination with various stakeholders and teams, covering all aspects of Project Management, including safety, compliance, budgets, timelines and resources to ensure alignment with company objectives.

This role primarily supports the provision of office and laboratory facilities at Amgen sites throughout the EMEA Region. In particular, the scope of the role will include fit out, upgrade, modification, expansion, relocation, or hand back of facilities on completion. A key element of this role is ensuring consistency with Amgen’s standards of construction, finishes and safety.

Management of projects at either ADL or ABR in support of GMP operations may also be required.

This highly visible position interacts with all levels of the organization. The candidate must have a demonstrated track record in project management , strong leadership and communication , and the ability to approach issues from a strategic perspective . This includes the ability to effectively drive multi-functional teams, advocate client positions throughout the project life cycle, and make value-based decisions.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and manage multiple international CAPEX projects (mostly tenant improvements), from business case assignment to implementation, ensuring alignment with project objectives.

  • Collaborate closely with internal and external stakeholders including managers, suppliers, project sponsors, and senior leadership.

  • Provide guidance and support to the project team, fostering a culture of motivation, development, and coaching.

  • Identify and address issues, risks, and opportunities, proposing improvements and implementing measures across all project aspects.

  • Safety management.

  • Manage project documentation and progress reports, ensuring accuracy and timely delivery.

  • Advise and support internal customers in developing business cases, focusing on continuous improvement of Stage Gate Project Management methodology and Global Engineering Standards.

Qualifications:

  • Degree in a relevant engineering field.

  • Extensive experience in leading a portfolio of multi-disciplinary projects within an operational environment and across multiple locations.

  • Proficiency in Continuous Improvement methods.

  • Solid understanding of GMP validation principles including VMP, DQ, FAT, IQ, OQ, SAT, PQ.

  • Fluency in English.

  • Willingness to travel - about 20% international (within EMEA region) travel required.
