About the role

As a CBRE Laboratory Relocation, equipment move manager, you will be responsible for ensuring that all occupancy, space management, and move and change activity services are delivered efficiently and effectively on behalf of our Life Sciences clients.

The Lab Relocation Manager will be required to work onsite to support various clients throughout the move execution and will be dictated by the client requirements.

What you’ll do

  • Interact directly with clients, scientists, researchers, and related end users to develop laboratory planning strategies at all levels of detail including new construction and renovation projects for our life sciences / pharmaceutical clients.

  • Liaise closely with internal and external teams to ensure that effective communication is maintained between all parties involved in moves and changes.

  • Respond to customer requests for relocations and changes at short notice, maximize space occupancy, and utilization of buildings.

  • Assist with estimates and scheduling of work. Audit the relocation work out-of-hours to ensure the smooth running of moves for occupation by the client.

  • May provide formal supervision to employees and third parties including monitoring, training, and development of staff.

  • May coordinate and manage the team's daily activities. Establish work schedules, assign tasks, and cross-train staff. Set and track staff and department deadlines. Mentor and coach as needed.

  • Oversee schedules and budgets for all relocation projects. Provide regular progress reports and raise issues as the need arises. Achieve or exceed target standards for agreed critical metrics.

  • Direct company processes, inclusive of client meetings, finances, health and safety, and programming of support contractor activities.

  • Ensure all documents, drawings, and standards are subject to regulatory scrutiny.

  • Lead by example and model behaviors that are consistent with CBRE RISE values. Influence parties of shared interests to reach an agreement.

  • Apply knowledge of own subject area and how own field integrates with others to achieve team and departmental objectives.

  • Identify, troubleshoot, and resolve day-to-day and moderately complex issues that may or may not be evident in existing systems and processes.

  • Other duties as assigned.

What you’ll need

Applicants must be currently authorized to work in the United States without the need for visa sponsorship now or in the future.

  • Bachelor's Degree preferred with 3-5 years of related experience. In lieu of a degree, a combination of experience and education will be considered.

  • Proven experience in cGMP facilities and laboratory (including vivarium) programming, planning, and design for biotechnology, pharmaceutical, academic, biomedical, or other research institutions is highly preferred.

  • Solid understanding of mechanical and electrical systems within a laboratory, vivarium, and cGMP space is strongly desired.

  • Working knowledge and skill set to guide discussions for laboratory (including vivarium) room/space development in conjunction with equipment and other technical attributes.

  • Experience in the areas of staffing, selection, training, development, coaching, mentoring, measuring, appraising, and rewarding performance and retention preferred.

  • Ability to guide the exchange of sensitive, complicated, and difficult information, convey performance expectations, and handle problems.

  • Leadership skills to motivate team impact on quality, efficiency, and effectiveness of the job discipline and department.

  • In-depth knowledge of Microsoft Office products. Examples include Word, Excel, Outlook, etc.

  • Extensive organizational skills with a strong inquisitive mindset.

CBRE carefully considers multiple factors to determine compensation, including a candidate’s education, training, and experience. The minimum salary for this position is $95,000 annually and the maximum salary for this position is $135,000 annually. The compensation that is offered to a successful candidate will depend on the candidate’s skills, qualifications, and experience. Successful candidates will also be eligible for a discretionary bonus based on CBRE’s applicable benefit program. This role will provide the following benefits: 401(K), Dental insurance, Health insurance, Life insurance, and Vision insurance.
