West Virginia Employer Payroll Clerk in Dunbar, West Virginia

he Payroll Clerk will process the weekly payroll for union and non-union employees while ensuring accuracy and compliance with company policies and legal requirements. The ideal candidate should be highly organized and able to work under strict deadlines while exhibiting knowledge of payroll processes and wage and hour laws. Key Responsibilities (Essential Duties and Functions) The duties and responsibilities include but are not limited to the following: Accurate and timely preparation and processing of weekly union and non-union payroll Maintain accurate payroll records including data entry for time and attendance transactions Compile monthly and/or weekly reports (including certified payrolls, union reporting, etc.) Adherence to Sarbanes-Oxley Maintain knowledge of regulatory guidelines, prevailing wages, and collective bargaining agreements (unions) Provide back-up assistance to other Payroll/functions Ability to research general ledgers and perform reconciliations Maintain employee confidence and protect payroll operations Respond to requests for payroll information from internal and external authorized parties Ability to effectively and professionally interact with all levels of company employees Assist with other projects as assigned by management Regular and predictable attendance is an essential function of the job Other Requirements: Display a professional and courteous attitude toward co-workers, managers, and anyone else you encounter. Must be conscientious and have strong attention to detail Report to the assigned job site ready to begin work at the designated start time. Adherence to safety requirements and procedures as outlined in the Manual of Safety Practices and Procedures. Adherence to West Virginia Paving policies & procedures as outlined in the Company Book of Policies. Willingness to work in a team environment & assist co-workers or supervisors with other duties as required. Timely and regular attendance is an expectation of performance for all West Virginia Paving employees. Employees will be held accountable for adhering to their workplace schedule. Knowledge with Windows, Outlook, Excel, and Word. Overtime may be required during peak season, including some evenings and weekends.
