Sodexo Live's! Airport Lounge Segment is seeking an experienced Sous Chef at theexclusive Lufthansa Lounge located inside Dulles Airport (IAD). This is a great opportunity to build your culinary career in a busy guest-focused hospitality venue! An oasis away from the airport hustle, our airport lounges have become synonymous for comfort and elegance at major airports. Grow your culinary career! We are seeking candidates with prior culinary supervisory/leadership skills and hands-on food production experience to join our team.

The Sous Chef candidate we seek will have a passion for culinary excellence and a culinary background within a restaurant, hotel or a la carte dining venue. The lounge consists of business class and 1st class dining with buffet and a la carte, plated service. This is an excellent opportunity to continue to build your culinary career in a hospitality-focused setting.

Lounge Hours are 12pm – 10pm.

The successful candidate will:

  • be responsible for menu compliance, cooking, food production, food quality/presentation, safety/sanitation;

  • ensure Sodexo culinary standards and food quality are implemented;

  • have the ability and willingness to develop and motivate team members to embrace culinary innovations;

  • ensure food safety, sanitation and workplace safety standards; and/or

  • have working knowledge of automated food inventory, ordering, production and management systems (Excel Spreadsheets);

  • supervise 5-6 team members.

Is this opportunity right for you? We are seeking candidates who have:

  • a supervisory culinary background, with the demonstrated ability to stay current with new culinary trends and supervise with confidence;

  • excellent mentoring/leadership and communication skills with the ability to maintain the highest of culinary standards;

  • prior culinary experience within a known restaurant group that features an a la cart menu (preferred);

  • strong coaching skills; and/or

  • a passion for food and innovation.
