The Facility Maintenance Manager I perform hands on maintenance activities specializing in mechanical applications, and supervises a multi-shift, multi-trade maintenance department.

Ensure Health and Safety is the number one priority by complying with all safe work practices, policies, and processes and acting in a safe manner at all times
Perform preventative maintenance, troubleshooting, disassembling, repairing, and re-assembling parts as necessary
Testing mechanical products and equipment after repair or assembly to ensure proper performance and compliance with manufacturers' specifications
Working with computer instrumentation to perform diagnostics and execute work worders
Welding and fabrication of necessary parts to maintain working order
Other duties as assigned
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Responsible for all personnel related functions for maintenance employees, including, but not limited to, hiring, firing, and performance appraisals.
Performs more than one of these following functions, Welding, Pipe fitting, Mechanic, Electrical, and Preventative maintenance planning.
Supervision of all maintenance employees and shifts.
Perform maintenance activities including, but not limited to, Pump rebuilds, Preventative Maintenance, Basic installations of pipe, and electric work.
Perform basic repairs and up-keep in the Welding, Electrical, Pipe fitting, and Mechanical disciplines.
Acts as an assistant to higher-level maintenance personnel on larger, more complex maintenance activities.
Operates a forklift if required and trained.
Ensures that work meets all applicable Health and Safety Standard Operating Procedures.
What Does it Take to Work for Clean Harbors?
Plant maintenance experience in one of the following areas: preventative maintenance, installations, welding, electrical, pipe-fitting, rolling-stock/heavy equipment mechanics
Demonstrated knowledge in welding or hydraulics
Ability to work on weekends and overtime
Ability to pass a mechanical aptitude test
Ability to meet physical demands of the position, including movements such as lifting, bending, reaching, climbing, and the manipulating and handling of objects
