Fire Inspector duties and Responsibilities.

  • Perform fire prevention / fire safety inspections in accordance with applicable DOD, US Navy, NFPA and Local policies, codes and regulations.

  • Deliver fire and life safety public education and training in a variety of settings, including initiating and supervising fire evacuation drills, performing fire safety demonstrations and delivering presentations at public forums.

  • Perform on-the-spot training and corrections.

  • Perform follow-up visits and inspections.

  • Properly document all fire prevention and public education activities.

  • Manage and perform associated administrative duties.

  • Maintain a neat appearance, physical fitness and acceptable grooming standards.

  • Fill-in as a Firefighter as required.

  • Perform other duties as assigned.

  • Obtain and maintain Emergency Medical Responder Certification and CPR Certification.

Education &Certification Requirements

  • REQUIRED:

  • High School Diploma or Equivalent

  • DoD, IFSAC or ProBoard Fire Fighter I & II

  • DoD, IFSAC or ProBoard Airport Firefighter

  • DoD, IFSAC or ProBorad HazMat Awareness & Operations

  • DoD, IFSAC or ProBoard Fire Inspector I & II

  • DoD, IFSAC or ProBoard Fire Instructor I

  • PREFERRED:

  • DoD, IFSAC or ProBoard HAZMAT Technician

  • DoD, IFSAC or ProBoard Driver Operator Pumper

  • DoD, IFSAC or ProBoard Driver Operator ARFF

  • DoD, IFSAC or ProBoard Driver Operator Aerial

  • DoD, IFSAC or ProBoard Driver Operator MWS

  • Work Experience and skills Required.

  • At least two years of experience as a Fire Inspector

  • At least two years of experience as a Firefighter

  • English – excellent reading, writing and speaking skills
