Job Description

I. Job Summary | Major goals and objectives.

Maintain, repair, and replace HVAC equipment; Plumbing fixtures and piping; Mechanical renovations; and perform preventive maintenance on all installed Mechanical and Plumbing systems.

II. Essential Job Functions

40 Troubleshoot, Diagnose HVAC equipment including RTUs, heat pumps, exhaust fans, various ventilation units

30 Install or repair all plumbing fixtures and piping

15 Repair and maintain sump pumps and circulation pumps of various sizes

10 Fire system inspections

5 Replace water filters and air filters on all mechanical equipment twice per year

III. Minimum Qualifications and Job Requirements | All must be met to be considered.

Education:

High School diploma. Trade School, formal apprenticeship training program, or equivalent in mechanical trades is required.

Experience:

Two years as an apprentice under licensed HVAC technician or equivalent on-the-job training desired.

Specific Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

Must have working knowledge of refrigeration systems with the ability to troubleshoot, diagnose and make repairs. Must also have working knowledge of plumbing/piping systems for commercial buildings.

Must have the physical ability to spend extended periods of time walking, climbing ladders or scaffolds and working from them, stooping, bending, reaching, working overhead, carrying tools and equipment, and lifting heavy objects (up to 50 lbs.) as required to perform normal electrical work.
