About This Role

Manages a team of intermediate or experienced professionals in Electrical and Electronics Engineering. Liaises with stakeholders, implements projects and represents the organization at external events, allocates project work, evaluates work, and creates career development programs for the team.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Responsibility for managing a team of Electrical Engineers working on complex activities with a focus on completing the work on time and within budget for Fireye product development efforts, sustaining, and other support projects required by the company.

  • Leading with exceptional communication skills, good organization, and the ability to communicate with all Departments and levels within the organization and the ability to motivate people to perform at high levels.

  • Providing the Electrical Engineering perspective to cross-functional teams, ensuring new products, product improvements, safety requirements, budgets, and schedules can be realistically achieved.

  • Managing and participating in the analysis, design, and prototype development of new products, as well as improvements to existing products.

  • Responsible for the consistent application of engineering best practices and product development processes to meet standards (UL, CE, etc).

  • Collaborating with Engineering Services, Test Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, and other company groups to move a hardware design into production successfully.

  • Updating Electrical Engineering ISO procedures and standard work as needed or as a minimum, on a defined review/update schedule.

  • Staying up to date with industry trends and emerging technologies; identifying opportunities for process improvements and propose innovative solutions.

  • Maintaining compliance with all company policies and procedures and perform all company assigned training.

  • Performing related duties as assigned by the individual’s supervisor.

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor of Engineering and 8+ years of Electrical/Hardware work experience.

  • 5+ years of Electrical Engineering work supporting the entire product development cycle from definition through to discontinuation.

  • 3+ years of leadership experience in a managerial, technical leadership, project leadership or supervisory role.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelor of Science Degree in Electrical Engineering.

  • Experience in a regulated industry, specifically designing safety products.

  • Familiarity with the Altium tool flow.

  • Exposure to HVAC system design.

  • Experience with functional safety design.

  • Experience with phase-gate product development.
