General Summary

Manage a fleet of company owned heavy equipment vehicles, trucks, and trailers at the Colorado location. Responsible for implementation of Hooper's fleet management program in Colorado, with the objective of ensuring the company's fleet is always maintained.

Principal Accountabilities

  • Maintain a robust system to track all company owned fleet equipment based out of Colorado location.

  • Ensure timely maintenance and repairs of fleet equipment. Create and maintain updated records of equipment repairs and inventory.

  • Manage a team of mechanics and provide directions to facilitate day-to-day operations of the team.

  • Handle day-to-day responsibilities, including but not limited to requesting and reviewing quotes & cost estimates, tracking equipment usage, purchasing, quality control, product management and field service.

  • Create and manage budgets.

  • Collaborate and establish strong relations with project managers, general foreman, mechanics, suppliers, partners, rental companies.

  • Performs other duties/special projects as assigned.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  • 5+ years of fleet and people management experience required.

  • 4-year degree or 2-year technical degree preferred.

  • Mechanical aptitude and knowledge of fleet and equipment repair preferred.

  • Proficient use of MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlooks and PowerPoint)

  • Proficient computer skills with willingness and ability to learn new software.

  • Self-driven, results oriented with ability to make sound judgments and decisions independently.

  • Proven ability to multitask, manage time well and stay organized.

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

  • Exceptional communication skills - verbal and written.

Description of physical working environment. (with or without reasonable accommodation)

  • Works in a shop / yard environment with frequent travels to job sites as needed.

  • Position requires regular standing, kneeling, twisting, bending as required to maintain equipment related needs.

  • Position requires regular lifting (up to 50 lbs.) and climbing up and down ladders on an around fleet equipment with or without reasonable accommodation.
