Job Description

Position Overview

The O&M Tech will be a Team player performing operations, maintenance, and craft technical support to achieve safe, cost-effective, and environmentally acceptable operation and maintenance of all equipment at the Spindle Hill Energy Center.

Responsibilities

  • Within the limits of authorized objectives, policies, procedures, plans, and budgets, the O&M Technician has the primary responsibilities and commensurate authority to:

  • Provide continuous support to promote and enhance the Team concept at the station.

  • Provide daily operations and maintenance support as needed.

  • Provide craft technical support in one or more skill areas including mechanical, electrical, or instruments and controls.

  • Acquire and maintain plant operations certification in all areas to effectively operate a combined cycle power station.

  • Work within and ensure strict adherence to all safety and environmental procedures.

  • The O&M Technician will work various shifts and be subject to scheduled and unscheduled overtime.

  • The individual will have interactions with: Spindle Hill Energy Center staff, Xcel Energy Personnel, Equipment Vendors

    Requirements

  • Good verbal and written communication skills.

  • Passing score on a Mechanical Technical Aptitude Test.

  • Valid driver’s license and acceptable driving record.

  • Eligible to work in the United States without the need for employer visa sponsorship now or in the future.

Preferred Requirements

  • 1 - 4 years of directly related operations, mechanical, electrical or instrumentation and controls experience (I&C) experience in a power generation facility or industrial setting.

  • Education in mechanical maintenance, electrical maintenance or instrument and controls.

  • GE 7FA experience a plus but not required.

  • Computer proficiency with Microsoft Office software

    Individuals receiving conditional offers of employment will be subject to drug testing and must receive a negative result to begin working for the company.

Salary Range

Pay range: $33.72/hr - $56.55/hr
