Responsibilities

This position is on a program a t the forefront of developing and operating Geospatial Intelligence analysis software. This team builds and maintains an exceptionally powerful platform enabling our users to address challenging real-world problems by converting disparate data into actionable information. We work directly with operational users to design, develop, and maintain capabilities that empower analysts to create actionable intelligence from the massive volumes of Geospatial Intelligence data to give our intel and combat organizations the decision advantage over our near-peer opponents.

As a passionate and self-motivated Senior Front-end Software Engineer, you’ll work with multiple scrum teams to develop immersive user interfaces using Svelte, HTML, CSS, and Typescript.

Duties, Tasks & Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure a seamless user experience.

  • Pro-actively engage as a thought leader within the team, driving innovative approaches and strategies that elevate our front-end development practices.

  • Contribute to the optimization of code for maximum performance and efficiency.

  • Optimize code for seamless performance and rapidly address any potential issues.

  • Uphold and champion industry best practices for the creation of top-tier web applications.

  • Mentor junior developers and contribute to the formation of highly effective, collaborative teams.

  • Work closely with the Product and Product design teams to understand the technical challenges of features, as well as determine the feasibility and viability of features sets and requests.

  • Enforce strong coding best practices, guidelines, and standards throughout the team.

  • Ensure that all code is clearly tested from end-to-end.

  • Flexibility and comfort across all stacks should allow you to help solve issues at all levels, including code modularity and re-use

  • Foster a collaborative environment and be a good role model within the team.

  • Work closely with internal and external APIs and back-end engineers to establish best practices for models and contracts.

  • Be an evangelist for front end development - detail oriented with a passion for leading by example.

  • Use your understanding of task runners and build frameworks to develop and evolve CI/CD.

  • Enjoy a flexible work schedule within an accommodating team environment.

Qualifications

Required Experience, Education, Skills & Technologies

  • An active TS/SCI security clearance, preferably with CI polygraph

  • Ten ( 10) years of experience in software development (analysis, design, development, testing, deployment, maintenance), with seven (7) of those years with experience as a software engineer with user interface development in Angular, React, Svelte, or similar framework

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, information technology, engineering, or a technical discipline

  • Experience creating and maintaining Enterprise web applications and integrating with back-end services

  • Strong experience in CSS and creating page layouts using component libraries and toolkits

    Preferred Experience, Education, Skills & Technologies

  • K nowledge of architecture styles and APIs including REST

  • Understanding of GIS concepts (ESRI tools, OGC Standards)

  • Experience working with CI pipelines

  • Experience with ElasticSearch and Kibana

  • Experience with AWS environments

  • Experience working in a SAFe Agile environment

  • Security+ Certification

  • TS/SCI with an adjudicated CI polygraph or ability to obtain a CI polygraph

    Pay Rate

  • The projected compensation range for this position is $150,000 - $208,000. Please note that the salary information is a general guideline only. Criterion Systems considers factors such as (but not limited to) scope and responsibilities of the position, candidate's work experience, education/ training, key skills as well as market and business considerations when extending an offer.
