Delta Building Center Truss Production in Delta, Colorado

POSITION: Truss Production

ESSENTIAL DUTIES: Under the direct supervision of the Truss Production Manager, engineered drawings are read and then used to build wood floor and roof trusses. This job functions in a fast-paced manner and requires accuracy and teamwork.

Operate heavy machinery to load bunks of lumber onto carts; then pushed into production shop. Unload the cart in an organized fashion onto floor. Pick up lumber from floor and place onto table according to engineered design. Staple wood components together. Place the appropriate size of metal plates on the truss joints. Operate truss press.

QUALIFICATIONS: Must be able to read a tape measure. Ability to analyze and problem solve. Understanding of basic math skills. Operate power tools and hand tools Operate heavy machinery. Understanding and application of different types and sizes of lumber products. Attention to detail is a must Good organization skills Thoroughness. Able to read engineered drawings. Flexibility Fit for Duty Stress tolerance Teamwork. Must use safety equipment provided.

EXPERIENCE & EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS One to Two years truss manufacturing experience is preferred.

WAGE: $16 - $18 per hour depending on qualifications.

SHIFT: Full Time, Monday-Friday, Overtime depending on business need.

JOB SITE: Delta, Colorado.
