Stetson University Project Manager - Marketing AS9656 in DeLand, Florida

The Stetson Marketing Project Manager position resides within the University’s Marketing and Admissions Department. Under the guidance of the Director of Creative Services, the Project Manager plays a key role in overseeing and managing creative projects from conception to delivery. The Project Manager collaborates with the Enrollment Management and Marketing Department teams, including Creative, Communications, Recruiting, and Web, in addition to other departments and stakeholders across the institution. This role ensures projects are completed on time and within budget requiring strong organizational, communication, and meticulous attention to detail skills. The Project Manager must thrive in a fast-paced environment, enjoy making student experiences better, and have marketing project management experience.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Employment duties will include, but not be limited to:

  • Work with the Director of Creative Services to oversee and manage between 50 and 75 marketing projects from inception to completion for print and digital materials

  • Communicate with cross-functional teams to ensure that projects are delivered on time, within budget, and meet the department’s objectives

  • Collaborate with creative, communications, web, and recruiting teams, as well as vendors and other stakeholders, to ensure smooth project execution and continual movement

  • Receive requests and gather information from department contacts for project kick-off

  • Set project milestones for cross-functional departments

  • Communicate between team members and stakeholders, providing regular project updates

  • Request quotes from vendors for printed and promotional materials, selecting vendors within department budgets

  • First reviewer of proofs provided by designers and photographer/videographer

  • Work with the Director of Creative Services to ensure deliverables meet quality standards and align with the brand guidelines

  • Participate in Audience/User Testing exercises with the Director of Creative Services and students to assess and evaluate the effectiveness of a marketing piece, gather and provide feedback on clarity, appeal, relevance, and overall impact

  • Assist with reviewing copy for accuracy, collaborating with part-time student copywriter

  • Monitor project timelines, identify bottlenecks, and take proactive measures to keep projects on schedule

  • Manage ad deadlines for publications, ensuring creative is approved and delivered on time

  • Monitor and schedule project milestones for creative team and other cross-functional teams

  • Help recruit and train student employees

  • Perform other related and administrative duties as assigned

Required Skills

Required Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in marketing or business-related field (education and/or experience)

  • 2-4+ years of experience managing marketing projects with cross-functional stakeholders and departments

  • Experience executing and managing multiple work streams across different departments

  • Exceptional attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously

  • Experience working with external vendors and multiple internal departments

    Ideal Candidate Qualifications: The ideal candidate’s qualifications for this role include:

  • Knowledge of higher education processes

  • Familiarity with marketing, design principles, and brand standards

    Work Environment: The Marketing division is in an open-aired work environment with about 20-30 employees working at the same time. Noise level can be high at times, during meetings, and calls. Office space is inside. This is an on-site position on the DeLand campus.
