Hohman Plating, LLC Shipping and Receiving Associate (10am-6:30pm M-F) in Dayton, Ohio

SUMMARY OF JOB

Full-time with full benefits, including medical, dental, vision, 401K match, PTO, Bonus and weekly pay. Hours are Monday - Friday, 10am - 6:30pm. Inspect and record incoming and outgoing shipments and move material through the plant. Assist in in the chemical warehouse, lab or production as needed. 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

 * Transfer customer parts to processing departments and stage incoming & outgoing shipments accordingly.

  • Maintain clean and safe work area in compliance with procedures, rules and regulations.
  • Unload delivery trucks and common carriers.
  • Assist customers at the Shipping counter.
  • Compare customer information and counts, weights or measures of items to bills of ladings, invoices, and orders.
  • Unpack and examine incoming shipments, reject damaged items, verify quantities, and route items to departments.
  • Safely operate lift truck or hand truck within company procedures to move shipments between Shipping department, processing departments and facility storage.
  • Update the computer system with order status for customer information.

     * Package outgoing customer parts to ensure quality and timeliness of delivery.

  • Determine method of shipment.

  • Select preassembled containers or assemble wooden or cardboard container according to work order.
  • Insert customer items into correct containers.
  • Ensure adequate packaging to safely protect the finished product and meet customer specifications.
  • Attach shipping labels or stencils on packed cartons to identify shipping information.
  • Post weights and shipping charges and affix bills of lading.
  • Maintain inventory of shipping materials and supplies.
  • Update the computer system with order status for customer information.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand; use hands to handle or examine parts; and to reach with hands and arms.  The employee frequently is required to walk; use stairs; climb or balance; and stoop, kneel, or crouch.  The employee is occasionally required to sit and talk or hear.  The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 25 pounds, and occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, color vision, and depth perception.

WORK ENVIRONMENT

While performing the duties of this job, the employee may be exposed to dangerous chemicals, including exposure to fumes or airborne particles below OSHA permissible limits.  Frequently exposed to high heat and humid conditions.  Employee will be frequently exposed to loud sounds, below the OSHA permissible limits.
