Propio Language Services Onsite Haitian Creole Contract Interpreter in Dayton-Cincinnati, Ohio

Founded in 1998 Propio Language Services provides critical interpreting and translation services that improve the quality of life with the communities we engage in. We do that by providing both remote and onsite services in more than 200 languages, for over 4,000 clients with a diverse and highly experienced staff, and over 5,000 contract interpreters.

Quality interpretation is critical to our shared success, and it is only possible by bringing in the best interpreters in the industry.

We currently have high demand for Onsite Contract Haitian Creole Interpreters to join in the Dayton-Cincinnati, OH area. The Interpreter helps facilitate successful delivery of services to linguistically diverse consumers.  Serve as a cultural and linguistic resource to both patients and providers to contribute to successful outcomes. 

What we look for in an interpreter: We want to work with people who have a sincere desire to use their language skills to help people and are passionate about what they do.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Performs duties in a spirit of teamwork and cooperation

  • Provide interpretation in person and virtually both by phone and video remote

  • Provides sight translation as needed

  • Precisely and accurately interprets critical information given by Propio’s clients into pre-determined target language(s)

  • Complies with applicable ethics and standards.

  • Interprets in a timely and accurate manner for the consumer/family members in a wide variety of settings

  • Establishes and maintains quality service and positive interaction with all patients, customers, visitors, health care providers, and clinical employees.

  • Maintains strict patient confidentiality in accordance with HIPAA, FERPA, GLBA and/or regulatory requirements or policies and standards.

Required Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED equivalent

  • Intermediate level computer skills

  • Reliable transportation and clean driving record

  • Ability to provide documentation of updated vaccinations to include but not limited to: TB, MMR, Varicella, Hep B (or declination), TDAP and Seasonal Influenza (Flu)

  • Successful completion of a drug test and background examination

Preferred Qualifications

  • COVID vaccinations preferred

  • 2+ years of relevant interpreting experience

  • Medical and/or legal interpreting experience

  • Excellent written and verbal communication.

  • Outstanding customer service and professional behavior

  • Ability to manage confidential and sensitive information.

  • Fluency in relevant language(s).

  • Excellent English verbal and written skills

  • Demonstrates excellent listening skills.

  • Ability to interact and communicate with people over the telephone, video, in person, often in stressful or difficult situations.

  • Ability to meet deadlines and demonstrate dependability and accuracy in service delivery.
