Palmer College of Chiropractic is looking for a Resident!

The Radiology Resident is responsible for the delivery of clinical radiology services as well as educating students and faculty on the application of diagnostic radiology and advanced imaging procedures.

ORGANIZATIONAL RELATIONSHIPS

  • Responsible to the assigned administrator and has a support responsibility to all other departments and college personnel as necessary.

  • Responsible for the supervision of students as required.

    SPECIFIC DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Responsible for performing and reviewing diagnostic imaging studies.

  • Responsible for the delivery of chiropractic care; including management of individual patients.

  • Radiology department administrative procedures as assigned.

  • Make recommendations for care to fellow clinicians when appropriate.

  • Maintain and monitor patient records.

  • Student education including classroom activities, small group sessions, and clinical procedures.

  • Attend departmental, clinic and residency meetings.

  • Support the missions of the department, the clinic, and the College.

  • Acquire knowledge from outside sources through residency sessions, seminars, outside readings, and certifications. Share that knowledge with students, faculty, and staff.

  • Act as a role model for students, faculty, and staff

  • Perform all responsibilities in a manner that fully complies with Palmer’s Equal Employment Opportunity/Affirmative Action policy.

  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES

  • Ability to perform assigned duties with time pressures and frequent interruptions.

  • Ability to communicate effectively.

  • Ability to travel to outside events.

  • Ability to work various hours as job requires.

    EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

  • Doctor of Chiropractic Degree required. Completion of National Boards with licensure in Iowa or eligible for licensure in Iowa by required start date. Completion of post graduate education, and in house coursework, making the resident eligible to sit for Diplomat level exams. Must have completed at least one published journal article/research project within a refereed journal prior to graduation.

    PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS AND WORK ENVIRONMENT

  • Performs sedentary to light work in a ventilated, lighted, and temperature controlled office setting.

  • Frequent need to stand, stoop, walk, sit, lift light objects (up to 50-100 pounds) and perform other similar actions during the workday.
