PeopleReady of Dallas, TX is now hiring Conveyor Belt Technicians! Entry Level Mechanic Learn and perform a variety of duties within the shop, in the field, and at customer locations. This may include installing, replacing, and repairing conveyor belts. We will ensure that you receive extensive, ongoing training and provide solid feedback and support to reach the company and your personal goals

Pay Rate:

The pay rate for this job is $21 / Hour

What you'll be doing as an Conveyor Belt Technician:

  • Learn to build and repair belts and rubber components.

  • Learn to perform duties to fabricate, install, and repair conveyor belting and other rubber products.

  • Learn the fundamentals of installing and vulcanizing lightweight and heavy-weight conveyor belting.

  • Travel and assist with installing and vulcanizing lightweight and heavy-weight conveyor belting.

  • Learn to receive and verify incoming parts, materials, and supplies; maintain stock area and prepare orders.

  • Pick up and deliver orders, stock, and supplies.

  • Exercise proper care in the use of tools and equipment Work in a manner that ensures the safety of everyone involved.

  • Observe all prescribed safety rules and regulations

  • Maintain the work area neat and orderly. 

  • Background check and drug screening required

Shift timings - All Available

Job requirements:

  • Demonstrate commitment to quality, concern for job turnaround, and customer downtime.

  • Work various schedules, including on-call, dayshift, nightshift, overtime, weekend, and holidays.

  • Travel out of state Current driver's license Ability to drive truck and trailer combinations (Class A license a plus but not required).

  • Work independently with little supervision Lift 75-100 pounds frequently

  • Basic Math skills Use a tape measure.

  • Work at heights

  • Ability to learn to operate mechanical conveyor belt handling equipment such as winder, winches, and belt stands.

  • Follow directions.

  • Work in all weather conditions

  • Must have a positive attitude towards workplace safety.

  • Preferred Mechanical aptitude

  • Ability and desire to quickly learn new processes and systems.

  • Expectations Demonstrate commitment to quality, concern for job turnaround and customer downtime

  • Follow directions on splice work from Field Service Coordinator /rubber specialist.

  • Communicate any problems /issues immediately to the senior tech.
