deciBel Research has an immediate opening for a Mid-Level Software Engineer in Dahlgren, VA.

Position Description:

deciBel Research is seeking a highly motivated Software Engineer to join our team.

Responsibilities Include:

  • Review and analyze code scan results and provide way- ahead mitigation recommendations in support of software assurance efforts.
  • Contribute to the development of new principles and concepts to enhance mission operations.
  • Develop and evaluate interfaces between software components, operational performance requirements, and overall system design.
  • Knowledge of network architectures and protocols.
  • Support critical operations during standard working hours.
  • Ability to attain and maintain DoD TS/SCI Security Clearance.

Education Requirements:Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or a related field.

Experience Requirements:

This position requires 6+ years of related experience.

  • Knowledgeable in Cyber Security in DoD environment with Security+ certification
  • Understanding of space object tracking sensors, networks and data, to include capabilities and limitations
  • Experience with agile SW development methodologies
  • Experience with Unix Fundamentals (Specifically IBM's AIX)
  • Familiarity with Linux-based OS, particularly Red Hat or Fedora
  • Programming skills to include FORTRAN 77, FORTRAN 90 and C
  • Working knowledge of converged infrastructure and related technologies such as VMware, Networking, and Storage solutions
  • Knowledge of network architectures and protocols

Special Skills Desired:

  • Knowledgeable in Information and Computer Systems, working knowledge of converged infrastructure and related technologies such as VMware, Networking, and Storage solutions.
  • Familiarity with TotalView source level debugging tool.
  • Familiarity with Builder Xcessory (BX), a UNIX GUI development tool for Motif and Java.
  • Excellent interpersonal, written, and oral communication skills and proficiency in MS Office (Excel, Word, and PowerPoint).
  • Meticulous organization of open software tasks.
  • Active DoD Top Secret security clearance with SCI eligibility.
