In addition to offering best-in-class podcast hosting and we also power ad products that enable a growing targeted ad marketplace across a pool of more than 1,000 podcasts that includes shows such as “How I Built This", "Morbid," and "Smartless", from major podcast networks like Wondery, CBS News, and NBC Universal.

We are seeking a passionate and detail-oriented Sr Product Designer to help craft tools that will be used by many of the top publishers, media companies, and agencies in the digital audio space.

You will lead UX design for a variety of internal projects, from discovery to workflow development, to wireframes and high-fidelity mocks, creating experiences that enable podcasters to work more quickly, accurately and efficiently. You will relentlessly simplify and distill complex business processes into intuitive and elegant experiences, working from high-level requirements to define design flows, interactions, and content strategies in collaboration with business leaders, engineers, product managers, and other UX designers. To be successful, you must be a critical, inventive thinker with clear design chops, have an excitement for understanding and using data, and the ability to communicate your ideas effectively. Being a big podcast fan is a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Help design elegant and cutting edge web and mobile products

  • Create process flows, conceptual diagrams, wireframes, and mockups to effectively communicate high-level design strategies and detailed interaction behaviors.

  • Lead usability testing and create final design and detailed interaction behavior specifications for handoff to engineering team

  • Work closely with cross-functional teams to help define business and feature requirements, user scenarios and use cases

  • Develop and nurture relationships across teams and disciplines to promote collaboration and efficiency

  • Proactively manage your own work queue, time and expectations, meet deadlines and communicate needs and tradeoffs if your schedule is in jeopardy

This position can be located in either Culver City or San Francisco, CA.

Basic Qualifications

  • 8+ years of design experience

  • Have an available online portfolio

  • Experience with design tools such as Photoshop, Illustrator and InDesign and prototyping in HTML, JavaScript, CSS, Ajax

  • 5+ years of UX designer or interaction designer experience

  • Experience with UX design of complex workflows

  • Excellent communication, presentation, interpersonal and analytical skills; the ability to communicate complex concepts clearly and persuasively across different audiences and varying levels of the organization; and the ability to present a strong rationale for design decisions.

  • Able to manage ambiguity, work independently and collaboratively within a team, and switch rapidly between different projects in a fast-paced environment

  • Strong online portfolio and results in Product Design, UX design, and prototyping tools.

  • Degree in UX Design, Animation, Fine Arts, Cognitive Psychology, HCI, or related field

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with ad tech products

  • Experience in UX design of billing/accounting systems, data products and dashboards

  • Experience in UI copy writing

  • Experience designing with Pattern Libraries and using a variety of usability testing methodologies.

  • Enterprise software design experience in a global context.

  • Passion for podcasts

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $113,000/year in our lowest geographic market up to $211,600/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company.
