Amazon is seeking a Senior Financial Analyst to be part the Amazon Music Finance team, supporting Wondery. This position will drive key accounting workflows around billings and payments, participation reporting, month-end close processes and the integration of Wondery into Amazon accounting and finance systems. This role will regularly interface with Wondery Finance, Content, Business Affairs and Marketing teams as well as partner with Amazon Accounting, Tax, and Legal teams. As such the role has a unique insight into end-to-end business on a global scale (from contract negotiation till cash collection/disbursement) and is responsible for accounting workstreams required to deliver the business P&L (both revenue, COGS and OPEX) and Balance Sheet.

Key job responsibilities

In particular, the role is responsible for:

  • Wondery month end close processes

  • Partner reporting, accounts payable troubleshooting, manual ad revenue operations support, and order to cash workstreams.

  • Improvement of processes impacting accounting month-end close through process streamlining and automation

  • Technical accounting analysis of new business events, such as new contracts, new products or new distribution channels, to ensure appropriate recognition and disclose of such events in the consolidated financial statements of Amazon.com, Inc.

  • Support of new product and geographical launches

Basic Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in finance, accounting or related field

  • 3+ years of tax, finance or a related analytical field experience

Preferred Qualifications

  • CPA, or CFA

  • Experience in accounting management in Big Four with Fortune 500 clients

  • Experience in identifying, leading, and executing opportunities to improve, automate, standardize or simplify finance or business tools and processes

  • Experience in accounts receivable or account payable

  • Knowledge of GAAP research tools and the FASB codification

  • Familiarity with Netsuite or other cloud-based ERP systems

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $56,900/year in our lowest geographic market up to $128,800/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company.
