Sony Pictures Entertainment Lead Test Automation Engineer in Culver City, California

The lead Test Automation Engineer works to develop testing framework, automated test scenarios, identify defects for faster and reliable feature deployment across SPE applications.

The role requires a deep background in scripting, execution and reporting using test automation using Python, Javascripts, Typescript, Java, Terraform etc. In addition to this, expertise in using Robot framework, Selenium, Playwright, or any other open-source tools is a must.

The role will establish and employ Continuous Integration and Deployment practices for the Enterprise using cloud-native managed services and DevOps tools. They must have experience using Jenkins, AWS or Azure cloud platform for running test scripts.

The role will be responsible for quickly adapting to unique application team requirements, excellent problem-solving skill using latest technology platform, cross functional team collaboration, and showcase clear communication skills across the team.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Implement test framework for SPE applications by identifying, scripting, and executing test scenarios

  • Identify defects and report them for better visibility across the team

  • Collaborate with DevOps Team for continuous integration

  • Work with SPE application during planning phase as part of Agile Methodology

  • Collaborate with offshore team for team building and troubleshooting

  • Lead communication proactively to accomplish deliverables

Qualifications:

  • 7-10 years of experience in Robot Framework, Playwright, Selenium or any open-source other testing framework. In addition to this having similarity with Agile methodology is a must.

  • Diverse experience in constructing CI/CD pipelines, Terraform scripting for AWS platform, API testing.

  • 7-10 years of experience writing code in Python, Java, Javascript, or Typscript for problem solving.

  • Knowledge on AWS or Azure cloud support is essential

  • Excellent analytical communication skills for cross platform collaboration across various technical and business groups.

  • Bachelor’s Degree is preferred
