Cuyuna Regional Medical Center * Physical Therapy Crosby, MN Professional Patient Care Full Time, Professional FTE: 1.0 FTE (80 hours per pay period) Weekend Requirements: Occasional weekend shifts Posted 05/03/2024 Req # 13123 High school athletic trainer position. There is a full-time ATC within our organization for collaboration and support. POSITION SUMMARY The primary responsibility of the Clinical/Outreach Athletic Trainer is to provide day-to-day athletic training services for a local sports team. The Athletic Trainer will attend all home games as agreed upon by the respective head coaches and/or athletic directors. The Certified Athletic Trainer is charged with managing the health care of participating athletes. This includes, but not limited to, first aid/emergency care, on-site injury evaluation, appropriate modalities, prevention and rehabilitation programs and medical referrals. POSITION QUALIFICATIONS Education and Experience: Bachelor's degree required. 1-3 years athletic training experience in a sports environment preferred; new graduates are welcome to apply. License/Certificates: National Certification (ATC) through the Board of Certification, Inc. State licensure. Valid Minnesota Driver's License required. BLS certification required within 30 days of hire. Special Skills and Aptitudes: Effective interpersonal relationship skills including good listening and communication skills. Ability to handle confidential information discreetly and appropriately. Ability to adapt resources to meet the needs of the situation. Possesses high level of organizational skills. Exercises good judgment, flexibility, creativity, and insight in problem solving. Uses assigned athletic training equipment safely and efficiently. Adjusts to stressful situations with confidence and good judgment. ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES Comply with OSHA bloodborne pathogen standards. Order, maintain and inventory supplies and clinical equipment. Assess athletes' status in response to treatment and modifies programs as appropriate. Keep athletic training room and clinical area safe, clean and organized. Maintain athletes' medical records and submit injury reports as required. Perform duties to assist team physicians. Organize and implement pharmaceutical inventory and records under the direction of the team physician. Organize pre- and post-participation physicals. Demonstrate interpersonal skills required to work effectively with players, coaches and other team personnel. Participate in select community service/educational programs related to sports medicine.
