Cortland Park Rehabilitation & Nursing Maintenance Assistant in Cortland, New York

Cortland Park Rehabilitation and Nursing Center is hiring a Maintenance Assistant.

Essential Function of the Position:

Complete minor building and equipment repairs as assigned.

Complete work orders in a timely and efficient manor.

Assist with trimming shrubs, mowing lawn, taking leaves and keeping grounds free of trash.

Assist with maintaining sidewalks free of snow and ice, including salting as needed.

Moving furniture, freight, and equipment as needed.

Assist with special building projects throughout the year, including painting rooms, hallways and other area's.

Report all safety issues and intervene if needed.

Demonstrates ability to locate emergency equipment and respond appropriately.

Work closely with other departments to improve the quality of life for residents.

Physical Demands:

Must be able to stand for extended periods of time and to walk around the facility.

Ability to push, lift, carry objects of at least 50 lbs.

Must be able to stoop kneel; crouch. reach, push, climb, lift and carry heavy objects and be able to turn, handle and manipulate minor medical equipment.

Qualifications:

High school Diploma or Equivalent.

Knowledge of power and hand tools.

Basic carpentry and painting skills.

Valid NYS Drivers License.

This position is full time and is benefit eligible, offering vacation/sick as well as health/dental/vision insurance options.
