Rural Resources Community Action Tribal Prevention and Education Specialist (Hiring Incentive $1,000) in Colville, Washington

Rural Resources Community Action is looking for a Tribal Prevention and Education Specialist. This position is full-time with benefits and located at our Inchelium, WA office. As a Tribal Prevention and Education Specialist, you will assist the Tribal Program Manager in developing and implementing culturally responsive primary prevention programs to a wide variety of audiences, including children, youth, and families, to promote social change. This position also plans, coordinates, and implements community-based education campaigns and skill-building training to increase community capacity to respond to violence and support survivors.

A Tribal Prevention and Education Specialist will need knowledge of the history and impacts of intergenerational-trauma within Indigenous communities, best-practice education and teaching concepts, including ability to provide culturally appropriate education to a variety of audiences and ages, the impact of crimes and trauma on victims, and crisis intervention and counseling principles and practices. The qualities we are looking for include the ability to work flexible hours including evenings and weekends, maintain client confidentiality, set limits and maintain healthy boundaries, establish and maintain effective working relationships with volunteers, agency staff, community officials and the general public, and demonstrated ability/experience utilizing training materials, lesson plans and curriculums, to teach and/or provide training, to conduct effective public speaking and group presentations.

Must have compassion for those harmed by abuse, violence, or other crimes; passion to advocate for the legal rights of victims.

To apply for this position, you would need a Bachelor's degree in social work, education, sociology, or related field; acceptable completion of 40 hour pre-service victim services training; demonstrated experience working in a social services field or cultural revitalization; demonstrated experience teaching or training. Or any combination of education and experience which would provide the applicant with the desired skills, knowledge and ability required to perform the job.

Salary & Benefit information

The hiring range for this role is $21.65-$23.42 per hour. The full salary range of $21.65-36.06 per hour represents the low and high end of the total salary range for this position. Actual salaries will vary depending on factors including but not limited to experience & qualifications. After the successful completion of our six-month training period, you will receive a 4% step increase.  As a regular employee, you may receive an additional 4% step increase on your annual anniversary with RRCA. Other benefits may include Paid Time-Off, a 403 (B) and/or Roth IRA retirement savings plan with a company match of up to 6%, a life insurance policy for $12,000 while you are employed, access to our Employee Assistance Program, Medical (3 Plan Options), dental, vision insurance, and other auxiliary insurance programs.
