Job Summary

Warehouse associates are responsible for the safe and efficient movement of products using a forklift. Warehouse associates must safely operate all material handling equipment and are responsible for ensuring efficient flow of materials, supplies, and products within the facility while maintaining high standards in safety and quality. Our facility has dry, refrigerated and freezer areas and most of the work is done in a cold environment.

* Essential Duties and Responsibilities*

  • Safely operate forklifts to move, stack, and stage products and materials in the warehouse.
  • Load and unload trucks, ensuring proper stacking and securing of products to prevent damage during transit.
  • Perform daily equipment checks on forklifts and make reports if not properly functioning.
  • Assist in accurate tracking of inventory levels by conducting regular cycle counts and reporting discrepancies to supervisors.
  • Organize and maintain inventory storage areas to maximize space utilization and facilitate efficient product retrieval.
  • Sorts and places materials or items on racks, shelves, or in bins according to predetermined sequence such as size, type, style, color, or product code.
  • Sorts and stores perishable goods in refrigerated rooms or freezers.
  • Responds to requests for materials, tools, or other stock items and distributes items to production workers or assembly line.
  • Pick and pack orders accurately and efficiently, verifying product quantities and quality before shipment.
  • Prepare shipping documents and labels, ensuring compliance with customer requirements and shipping regulations.
  • Inspect incoming and outgoing products for damages, defects, or discrepancies, reporting any issues to supervisors.
  • Follow quality control procedures to maintain the highest standards for product quality and integrity.
  • Adhere to safety protocols and guidelines while operating forklifts and handling warehouse equipment.
  • Wear appropriate PPE.
  • Observes safety and security procedures and reports potentially unsafe conditions.
  • Maintain a clean and safe work environment consistent with company standards.
  • Communicate effectively regarding inventory levels, stock movements, and any issues related to warehouse operations.
  • Other duties as assigned.

* Minimum Qualifications*

  • Forklift certification ability to past test required.
  • Highschool diploma or equivalent
  • Minimum of 1-2 years of experience operating forklifts in a warehouse or manufacturing environment.

* Competencies, Preferred Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities*

  • Strong understanding of warehouse operations, inventory management, and shipping processes.
  • Attention to detail and accuracy in order fulfillment and inventory tracking.
  • Ability to work independently and as a part of time
  • CDL a plus

* Physical Demands and Work Environment*

While performing the duties of the position, the employee will be required to:

Stand, walk, sit, twist the body, reach with hands/arms, climb stairs, climb into forklift, balance, stoop, kneel, and/or crouch/crawl

Use hands repeatedly to handle, move, and/or lift objects up to 50lbs

Communicate, talk, and hear in an environment with reasonable manufacturing noise levels

The employee may occasionally be required to stand and walk.

Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.
