IHG Tradesperson/Engineer in Cleveland, Ohio

PEOPLE

  • Promote teamwork and quality service through daily communication and coordination with other departments.

GUEST EXPERIENCE

  • Respond in a courteous and prompt manner to all guest questions, complaints and/or requests to ensure strong guest satisfaction.

RESPONSIBLE BUSINESS

  • Complete minor work orders such as replacing ceiling tiles, filters, light bulbs, patching vinyl, painting, repairs to pipe lines, toilets, sinks, kitchen and laundry equipment, etc. Perform preventative maintenance duties as assigned.

  • Perform maintenance and repairs work on the interior and exterior of buildings, hotel rooms and contents, laundry and kitchen/refrigeration equipment, lighting, heating, air conditioning (HVAC), ventilation, and water treatment systems, and swimming pool-if applicable, etc. Ensure that equipment is prepared and operational for the following day’s work.

  • Perform preventative maintenance as outlined in the Preventative Maintenance Program, i.e., SuiteKare, etc. which may include and is not limited to:

  • Inspecting building, furniture, bathrooms, guest rooms, etc., inspecting all equipment to ensure it is functioning properly and efficiently, reading and recording mechanical, electrical and water usage meters to ensure effective energy management, and maintaining inspection logs and records of scheduled work and repairs.

  • Assist with other duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS AND REQUIREMENTS

Basic reading, writing, and math skills and 1+year(s) of general maintenance and repair experience. Completion of high school diploma or related vocational training preferred.

This job requires ability to perform the following:

  • Frequently standing up and moving about the facility

  • Frequently handling objects and equipment to maintain the facility

  • Carrying or lifting items weighing up to 100-300 pounds

  • Frequently bending, stooping, kneeling, climbing and crawling

Other:

  • Working knowledge of basic plumbing, electrical skills, preventative maintenance procedures, and reasonable understanding of building equipment and hand tools.

  • Communication skills are utilized a significant amount of time when interacting with the other hotel staff and guests.

  • Mathematical skills, including basic math, are utilized frequently.

  • May be required to work nights, weekends, and/or holidays.
