Job Description:

Facility Maintenance personnel will utilize their knowledge and experience in plumbing, carpentry, painting, mechanics, compressor and pneumatics maintenance, and HVAC to perform maintenance and repairs to the facilities and property.  On occasion, transport goods to other MTI locations via company van and/or truck (box truck or smaller).

 

Job Function:

Reporting to the Maintenance Supervisor, this position is responsible for routine preventative maintenance, plumbing repairs, carpentry, painting, HVAC, forklift, compressor and pneumatics, and building repairs as required.

Primary Responsibilities:

  1. Troubleshoot issues and make necessary repairs in timely manner
  2. Report facility problems to facility project manager or Maintenance Supervisor
  3. Work on long term and short term tasks as assigned
  4. Maintain the overall orderliness of maintenance area and Meyer Tool grounds
  5. Complete assigned tasks in a timely manner
  6. Transport items to other MTI facilities, when needed
  7. Adhere to ALL safety and quality standards

          

Requirements:

  • HS Diploma or equivalent- Documentation required
  • Must meet ITAR definition of US Person(s)- Documentation required
  • Valid U.S. driver's license, insurance, and an acceptable driving record are required
  • Experience in Carpentry
  • Experience in and sound knowledge of Compressor & Pneumatics
  • Experience in Plumbing
  • Experience in Painting
  • Ability to multi-task and prioritize multiple projects with minimal supervision
  • Sound analytical and problem solving skills
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Strong interpersonal and leadership skills
  • Ability to communicate both verbally and in writing in English
  • Ability to obtain forklift certification and operate company lift trucks
  • Ability to work both independently or with others
  • MTI is a safety sensitive manufacturer. As such, successful results of pre-employment drug testing will be required.

     

Preferable Experience:

  • 5+ years' experience in one or more of the areas
  • Experience in HVAC
  • Experience in Electrical work
  • Certified forklift driver

     

Physical Demands/Work Environment:

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand, move throughout the facilities, use hands, reach with hands and arms, and communicate.  The employee must frequently lift/or move up to 50 pounds.  May be required to climb ladders and stairs, bend, stoop, kneel, stretch, and balance.  Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.  The noise level in the work environment may be loud.  Must be able to use all required PPE.
