Rumpke Of Ohio Inc Facilities Maintenance Technician - Corporate in Cincinnati, Ohio

Description The Facilities Maintenance Technician is responsible for performing various types of maintenance and upkeep at Rumpke owned properties. This position performs skilled painting, masonry, HVAC, carpentry, plumbing, drywall, concrete, and related repair and maintenance. Responsibilities of Position: Perform skilled construction, maintenance, and repair at Rumpke owned buildings in a safe manner and in compliance with all local, state, and federal regulations and Company policies. Perform basic landscaping to include but not limited to mowing and edging lawns, prune trees and shrubs, landscaping, planting, mulching, weeding, trimming, clean flower beds, and watering plants, etc. Perform preventive maintenance per schedule and as needed on all areas that pertain to proper function of the building. Professional interaction with internal and external customers. Contact outside vendors for repairs as directed by manager. Assist/perform in repairs of plumbing, construction and HVAC as needed. Operate various hand-held manual, electrical and gas-powered tools and equipment. Recognize and repair any detected deterioration, repair, and/or maintenance needs. Snow removal and salt application to driveways, walkways, and parking lots of Rumpke facilities. Maintain exterior property, including but not limited to: underground sprinkler, mulch beds, trash, sidewalks. Assist with the planning, estimating, and coordination of more complex tasks. Assist in supporting the safety and physical integrity of property, structures, facilities, and equipment. Applies for and obtains permits for building projects, as required. Maintain accurate records (work orders, materials/supplies usage, cost estimates, labor time, maintenance logs, etc.) Assist in unloading of trucks as needed. Other duties as assigned. Skills & Abilities Needed for Position: OSHA 30 hour, chainsaw, fork truck, skid loader, boom lifts, small engine/mower, fall protection/gear. All training and in house certifications will be provided by Rumpke. Knowledge of carpentry, drywall, concrete, plumbing, HVAC, maintenance, painting, mechanical, and general building repair. Ability to perform physical requirements of the job (prolonged physical exertions, including standing, bending, lifting, pushing, pulling, squatting, bending, kneeling, reaching, stretching, climbing and working in awkward positions and tight areas). Must be able to lift and carry up to 50 pounds. Ability to safely perform building maintenance and repairs. Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail. Ability to work in all weather conditions. Good written and verbal communication skills to be able to communicate effectively and professionally with internal and external customers. Additional skills may be required to perform additional task(s) specific to work location, department or line of business. Additional Working Conditions/Aspects: Must have valid DOT Medical card or able to obtain prior to hire. Must be at least 19 years of age. No more than 3 moving violations within the last 2 years. Must not have any DUI's or OVI's within the last 5 years or 2 in the last 10 years. Possible exposure to high traffic conditions and/or tight driving areas. Exposure to residential and commercial waste. Ability to travel between offices, as required. Ability to work flexible hours; overtime, weekends, and/or holidays. Ability to work overtime, weekends and/or holidays. Must be available for 24-hour emergency calls. Legally eligible to work in the United States. Valid driver's license (if applicable).
