Job Description:

The Explosive Material Handler will be responsible for warehousing activities which include the movement and storage of raw materials and finished goods to ensure optimal organization and efficiency of logistics functions to support manufacturing operations.

Essential Functions:

  • Process incoming and return material to ensure they are physically and electronically moved in the Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) database to a valid warehouse location.

  • Pull material for Manufacturing Orders, Additional Material Requests (AMRs), Scrap Replacement Requests.

  • Demonstrate the ability to pull and issue material in accordance with First-In/First-Out (FIFO) methodology, assist in the preparation of returnable packaging and finished goods shipments as required.

  • Work with the Explosive Control Coordinator and the Environmental Health and Safety Departments to count, sort, and transport explosives and other hazardous and non-hazardous material.

  • Safely operate a forklift and other Powered Industrial Vehicles inside and outside, moving between various buildings on campus.

  • Support material movement schedules to ensure manufacturing and shipping schedule attainment.

  • Basic to Intermediate Microsoft and computer knowledge.

  • Read and follow work instructions to safely transport and store non-hazardous and hazardous material in accordance with 49 CFR and IATA.

  • A bility to learn the ERP system (Costpoint/Cognos) and process transactions electronically and physically to ensure overall inventory accuracy.

  • Regularly lift and handle over 40 lbs.

  • Perform cycle counts of stock on hand.

  • Consolidate waste for disposal.

  • Proven track record of reliability, responsibility, safety, and have demonstrated the ability to pay attention to detail that surpasses peers.

  • Able to obtain and maintain a DoD Clearance.

    Qualifications:

  • Requires developing job knowledge and skills, typically obtained through a combination of Education and Experience.

  • Requires a High School Diploma or equivalent and a minimum of four (4) years of prior warehouse, material handling, and/or Shipping and Receiving experience.

    OR
    • 2 years post-Secondary/associates degree with zero (0) to two (2) years of prior warehouse, material handling, and/or Shipping and Receiving experience.
  • Successfully complete forklift and other Powered Industrial Vehicle (PIV) training and qualify on the equipment immediately.

  • Successfully complete AA&E key training.

  • Qualify as an ATF Responsible Person.

  • Must be a United States Citizen.

    Preferred Additional Skills:

  • Prior PIV training.

  • Prior experience with Hazardous materials or basic understanding of explosives and compatibility groups/N.E.W.
