Insight Global Technical Support Administrator - Industrial Engineering in Chicago, Illinois

Job Description

Insight Global's client is looking for a Technical Support Administrator with 5+ years of experience to join the Engineering Standards and Design Team at a large manufacturing company. Candidate will support the various design group personnel and department related CAD and technical support needs. Responsibilities include:

  • Provide technical support and troubleshooting to CAD designers

* Program applications using Python to automate processes (ex. Exporting models)

* Set-up standards on new or re-imaged machines. (Borders, blocks and templates)

* Application Support on Issues and enhancement changes.

* Solicit renewal quotes for various software packages, working with IT, procurement through process. Set up various design software license servers.

* Support document control activities

* Manage Microsoft Teams channels -- adding users, creating folders/channels, plug-ins

* Developing procedures and how-to guides for department

* Test and trial software updates prior to releasing to department.

* Support Autodesk applications and Dassault Systems programs.

* Auditing software and generating termination reports

* Overall management and maintenance of client drawing management system (PDM).

* Create and manage all client CAD templates and spec databases, catalog components

* Participate in workshops, training, and development of standard practices and procedures

* Development of AutoCAD support files (LSP routines, Templates, Pallets)

* Creating macros to automate simple tasks

Skills and Requirements

* Minimum of 5 years' experience in IT support for industrial engineering teams.

* Associate's degree

* Familiarity with CAD software and ability to read engineering drawings (PIDs, Gas, Isometrics)

* Knowledge of license servers and/or programming language (Python)

* Strong written & verbal communication skills. Ability to create written technical documentation.

* Strong interpersonal skills. Ability to build relationships and collaborate across disciplines.

* Experience utilizing SharePoint, Teams, and Box- setting up/removing users, creating channels, managing licenses and logins, etc.

* IT system and database management skills. * Bachelor's degree

* Knowledge of license servers and/or programming language

* Prior experience creating and maintaining client spec databases

* Experience with drawing management system

* General knowledge of industry standards (ASME, SMACNA, PIP) null
