Parksite Outside Sales Rep in Chicago, Illinois

The Outside Sales Representative for Atlantic Plywood is responsible for strengthening customer relationships, while driving volume and profit growth using a balanced approach of new business development and existing account management.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

General

  • Assist in building their individual sales and profit plan

  • Become expert on market and products

  • Understand and be able to explain our policies and procedures

  • Provide product pricing and account level recommendations

  • Participate in required vendor training and develop appropriate product knowledge in all products sold

  • Effective call schedule planning and documentation in CRM

  • Develop specific account-based strategies to protects, grow and drive business

    New Business Development:

  • Responsible for aggressively developing a pipeline in CRM for new business

  • Create pull through for our direct accounts by working to educate and influence their customers

  • Introduce new products and complementary products to existing and new customers

  • Develop and carry out strategies to increase market share of our products with new and existing customers

  • Execute and implement company promotions and programs

  • Prospect and develop new business targets/opportunities

    Account Management:

  • Responsible for maintaining and protecting existing account business

  • Train customer sales teams on product knowledge and selling techniques, as needed

  • Provide merchandising support

  • Address and resolve customer complaints and/or claims

  • Set up and attend trades shows, as needed

  • Continue building relationships through excellent customer follow up and product resolution

    QUALIFICATIONS :

    Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • Strong customer service skills both in person and virtually

  • Self-motivated and functions well independently as well as within in a team

  • Ability to present to groups both large and small

  • Microsoft Office including hosting presentation

  • Have strong closing skills with customers and follow up on commitments

  • Ability to travel throughout the assigned territory as required

  • Strong analytical skills, including the ability to identify and analyze key, market, customer, and competitive trends.

    Education:

  • Bachelor’s degree preferred or industry experience equivalent

    Experience:

  • 3+ years’ experience in customer facing sales within building products industry

  • Have direct exposure in resolving customer concerns

  • Experience in customer facing selling

  • Understanding of building installation process

    WORK ENVIRONMENT:

  • In-market 85% of the time (customer facing)

  • Occasional over-night travel required.

  • Must react to short lead customer requests, Possible evenings, or weekend for customer events
