Summary

Rush University Medical Center is seeking a detail-oriented and proactive individual to join our team as a 340B Pharmacy Coordinator. Under the supervision of the 340B Manager, the 340B Pharmacy Coordinator will work with the team to carry out day-to-day management and compliance duties to optimize savings while maintaining compliance standards. If you have a strong understanding of pharmacy operations, compliance requirements, and experience in managing 340B programs, we encourage you to apply.

Responsibilities

• Contributes to the day-to-day management, compliance review, and operations of clinic-administered medications in eligible locations, mixed-use areas managed by split-billing software, outpatient prescriptions fulfilled by wholly owned pharmacies, and outpatient prescriptions fulfilled by a contract..

• Develops and maintains internal relationships (accounting, legal, IT, pharmacy) and external relationships (wholesalers, manufacturers, contract pharmacies, split-billing software vendors, and third-party administrator [TPA] vendors) as needed.

• Ensures that the 340B pharmacy program is continuously compliant with 340B federal regulations as well as organization specific policies and procedures related to the 340B program.

• Field questions from Rush staff regarding patients’ 340B eligibility for approval and facilitation of medication access for self-pay/charity care

• Develops, executes, and maintains self-audit records of the 340B qualification process. Coordinates and ensures remediation of findings.

• Monitors utilization records and 340B purchasing accounts to ensure that software or tools are working properly and accurately

• Coordinates external compliance assessments with outside firms, when appropriate, to validate internal processes.

• Evaluates patient eligibility for qualified and non-qualified claims reviewing patient medical records, insurance plans, and hospital status.

• Conducts quarterly audits of all 340B-eligible locations to verify adherence with the 340B Program guidelines and policies.

• Participates in projects, councils, and special initiatives related to 340B, compliance, auditing functions, vendor selection, and medication management

• Manages and tracks 340B drug inventory, including proper replenishment.

• All other duties as assigned.

Required Job Qualifications:

• Demonstrates outstanding competence in both written and verbal communication skills.

• Possesses excellent interpersonal skills.

• Demonstrates a high level of competency in troubleshooting and maintaining automated equipment.

• Demonstrates competency in generating and analyzing reports.

• Successfully reviews and improves the quality of service to be provided by maintaining automated equipment in its most efficient state.

• Certified Pharmacy Technician (PTCB).

• Familiarity with PC computer-windows based applications, spreadsheets (Excel), word processing (Word).

Preferred Job Qualifications:

• Some college level coursework.
