SAIC seeks an experienced, results-oriented, mission-driven Chief Data Architect to design and implement enterprise-wide data architecture and the development of the data management platform in support of national security objectives. You’ll be part of agile teams responsible for increasing innovation capacity and driving the velocity of development of data ingestion and data analysis. You will synchronize efforts with other tasks in assembling data technologies to control the flow of data from source to value, with the goal of speeding up the process of deriving value and insight. The ideal candidate will have a passion for unlocking the secrets held by a dataset and solid understanding and experience leading technical teams to deliver enterprise data capability which enables the Sponsor to realize value through consistent, accurate, reliable and high-quality data and leading-edge data, reporting and analytical solutions.

Chief Data Architect will drive the creation and implementation of data standards, databases, ETL solutions, and oversight and directions to integrate transformative technologies to improve tooling and maintaining operational continuity. Qualifications

Qualifications - External

Required Qualifications:

  • Must have active/current TS/SCI with Polygraph Clearance

  • Bachelors and eighteen (18) years or more experience; Masters and sixteen (16) years or more experience; PhD or JD and fifteen years or more experience.

  • 5 + years of experience as a Data Architect, Data Engineer or related role developing ETL.

  • 5 + years programming with Java, JavaScript, Python

  • 5 + years of experience using and ingesting data into SQL and NoSQL database systems

  • 5+ years of experience developing data models (conceptual, logical, physical)

  • 5+ years of experience developing and maintaining data processing flows using NiFi

  • Experience with Amazon Web Services (AWS or Azure)

  • Experience working with Linux OS

  • Experience with JIRA and Confluence, and the rest of the Atlassian suite

Desired Qualifications:

  • Experience with Data Warehouse and Data Lake concepts for reporting, analytics, and data mining

  • Experience with development of project work plans, milestone tracking, and coordination of efforts

  • Excellent organizational and analytical abilities, and able to compile and organize statistical information retrieved and present findings to management

  • Effective communication working in diverse teams
