Sierra Nevada Corporation Quality Assurance Inspector in Centennial, Colorado

Employee is responsible for inspection of work performed at a diverse repair station working on all makes and models of aircraft from mid-sized corporate jets & turboprops down to small piston aircraft. Straight Flight is also an authorized service center for the Dornier 328-100 and -300 aircraft. The employee will work with other Straight Flight technicians to confirm all completed tasks meet the requirements of the FAA Part 145 repair station and are properly completed per the related task card and approved technical data. The ideal applicant will have knowledge of commuter class aircraft heavy checks and an understanding of all systems found in this class of aircraft. Applicants should be familiar with a variety of approved data sources from OEMs as well as outside engineering support. This is a hands-on role and requires mobility on and around an aircraft in maintenance status.

Applicant Requirements:

  • Technical License (FAA Certification) – A&P required, IA is a plus

  • Minimum of 12 years hands-on aircraft maintenance experience. Aviation structures and modification experience is preferred

  • 5 years recent practical experience on commuter class aircraft

  • Comprehensive understanding of FAA Regulations (EASA is a plus)

  • Understanding of aircraft ATA coding, Maintenance Manuals, Illustrated Parts Catalogs, Structural Repair Manuals, Service Bulletins is a must

  • Must understand FAA Airworthiness Directives and FAA Form 337

  • Familiarity with FAA Form 8130 issuance

  • Past experience with PMA a plus

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills

  • Ability to travel, including foreign travel, while expected to be minimal, may be required

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office products (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)

Salary & Benefits

  • 4 – day work week, Monday through Thursday

  • Ability to work flexible hours to accommodate release schedule.

  • Salary range – starting salary of $38 per hour, higher possible depending on experience
