Description

Stanley Consultants is seeking to hire a Construction Inspector for the Colorado Springs area.This position will perform on-site daily observation of the contractor's construction work and verify the work product to the project's approved plans and specifications. Duties include: Perform highly complex technical assignments related to stormwater, roadway and bridge construction. Receive general instructions regarding assignments and is expected to exercise initiative and independent judgment in the solution of construction related work problems. Preparing reports and maintaining daily logs of inspections and reviewing any discrepancies with the proper parties. Assures the quality of the contractor's work. Be responsible for verifying the progress and final estimates throughout the construction project duration. Recognizes construction problems and communication with relevant team members to apply standard techniques and procedures to solve the problem. Implement field changes to required drawings and specifications. Perform field survey and measurements. Inspecting construction work and conducting field tests. Be responsible for coordinating and managing a team of inspectors. Maintain daily contact with contractors to discuss construction activities. Attend construction meetings with client and contractors. Perform other duties as assigned. Background requirements include: This job requires good communication and documentation skills (Word or equal, Internet) and an individual capable of performing with minimal supervision. A general knowledge of construction techniques and an ability to read plans and specifications is mandatory. 4-Year engineering or construction management degree and 0-3 years of Construction related experience OR 2-Year construction management program or 4-Year degree in fields other than engineering or construction management with a minimum of 3 years of construction related experience OR No degree and a minimum of 5 years of construction related experience in a field applicable to the work assignment Physical Demands: This position requires the ability to lift and transport 50 lbs. Requires the ability to work at and easily maneuver around construction sites in various weather conditions. Must be able to climb ladders, scaffolding and trenches. Fear of heights or confined spaces could create a significant hardship.
