Douglas County Government WrapAround Facilitator - Truancy in Castle Rock, Colorado

OVERVIEW:

Using Wraparound values, principles and practices, the Wraparound Facilitator provides intensive, supportive interventions for identified families; Specializing in court involved youth for truancy.

The Douglas County Wraparound program exists as it differs from many service delivery strategies, in that it provides a comprehensive, holistic, youth and family-driven way of responding when children or youth experience multi system involvement and or significant stressors.

The WrapAround process is led by a Facilitator who brings multiple systems together with the child/youth, family and their natural supports to create a highly individualized plan to address complex needs. The goals of WrapAround are to meet the needs prioritized by youth and family, improve their ability and confidence to manage their own services and supports, develop or strengthen their natural supports, and integrate the work of all child/family serving systems and natural supports into one streamlined plan. WrapAround is an evidence-based practice. A WrapAround Facilitator engages all participants and the role can be complicated, as it is beyond the usual one-discipline focus, as it seeks to incorporate all aspects of a child's or yo

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:

A High School Diploma or GED required. Bachelor's degree in a human services or related field is preferred. Two years of progressively responsible human services experience and WrapAround work, or related field. Knowledge of and belief in the principles of WrapAround is a plus. Knowledge of Douglas County resources and Metro resources is a plus. Knowledge of truancy/chronic absenteeism, and GED process also a plus. A combination of education and experience may be considered.

CERTIFICATIONS, LICENSES, & REGISTRATIONS:

Must possess a valid Colorado Driver's License upon hire, with complying insurance. Review of motor vehicle record is required at time of hire and periodically throughout employment. This position requires successful completion of a criminal background check including fingerprinting through a national database.
