You will become part of the high-performance data analytics and insights team where we focus on using data to improve marketing performance, strategic decision making and deliver on financial KPIs within our global CMD marketing division. We are looking for a team member who is eager to use their creativity in order to bring value by using advanced data solutions. In this role, you will turn multiple sources of product data into information to help drive profitable and sustainable products. The Data Analyst pulls together and analyses data for the business, creates specifications for reports and analysis based on business needs and requirements or available data elements.

What will you do?

  • Design, develop, test, deploy, support, enhance data integration solutions seamlessly to connect and integrate Thermo Fisher enterprise systems in our Data Science and Enterprise Data Platform.

  • Innovate for data integration in Apache Spark-based Platform to ensure the technology solutions leverage cutting-edge integration capabilities.

  • Facilitate requirements gathering and process mapping workshops, review business/functional requirement documents, author technical design documents, testing plans and scripts. Assist with implementing standard operating procedures, facilitate review sessions with functional owners and end-user representatives, and leverage technical knowledge and expertise to drive improvements.

  • Implements processes and systems to monitor data quality, ensuring production data is always accurate and available for key stakeholders and business processes that depend on it.

  • Define, design and document reference architecture and lead the implementation of BI and analytical solutions (AI, ML, etc.).

  • Writes unit/integration tests, contributes to engineering wiki, and documents work.

  • Follow Agile development methodologies to deliver solutions and product features by following DevOps practices.

  • Contribute towards the delivery of our long-term data roadmap through introducing new data sources, technology, visualizations, and standard work.

Teamwork and Leadership:

  • Working closely with cross-functional teams in Marketing, Sales, IT and corporate data engineering/data science team, the ideal candidate will be a self-motivated, confident data-analyst and problem solver, with a keen eye for details

  • Advocate for and implement standard processes in data management, security, and governance within the Databricks ecosystem and MS Power BI environment.

  • Lead by example, mentoring junior team members and encouraging a culture of technical excellence and innovation.

How will you get here?

Education & Experience

  • BS or MS Degree in math, statistics, computer science, data science or related

  • Minimum 4+(BS) or 2+ (MS)years of work experience in data analytics, digital enablement, or related field

Knowledge, Skills, Abilities

  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, and experience of building data models

  • Proficiency in Excel, SQL/ Python/ R, Power BI (or similar tools)

  • Strong presentation skills and ability to articulate sophisticated data models and business problems

  • Ability to work across a matrix org structure and effectively influence business partners

  • Self-motivated, able to drive actions to completion with intensity and ownership

  • Passionate about learning business and data analytics/ data science

  • Experience with the Databricks platform, including Databricks SQL, Delta Lake, and the Unity Catalog is a plus

  • Comfortable in a fast-paced working environment

Compensation and Benefits

The salary range estimated for this position based in California is $83,300.00–$125,000.00.

This position may also be eligible to receive a variable annual bonus based on company, team, and/or individual performance results in accordance with company policy. We offer a comprehensive Total Rewards package that our U.S. colleagues and their families can count on, which includes:
